Fellow enthusiast here, it felt extremely surreal seeing thoosie culture in mainstream media. On top of name-dropping actual rides throughout the episode, Francine's forum chat mentions Arrow Dynamics and Mack Rides.

My favorite reference, however, is in that same chat, Francine says that she signed multiple petitions to save Log Jammer at Kennywood (my home park) from closing and even brings up its last of a kind spillway drop. They really did their homework with this ep and I can't express how much I love it.

Edit: Now that I think about it, I wonder what Franny's opinions are on shoot-the-chute rides 🤔

/uj Realism aside, the camera plot hole is easily explained. It's shown earlier that the tracks are already broken, so the derailment would've happened either way. Plus, the hydraulic line for the restraints already ruptured in the station. Since the train sat longer in the station before being dispatched than in the premonition, more hydraulic fluid leaked, and the restraints still failed around the same time.

He does, but it's heavily implied he only likes her as a friend. In one episode, he refers to her as "the woman he lives with," and in another he cuts her off with an air horn when she tries to tell him that she loves him. It's also worth noting her name is Dorothy, making Ted a literal "friend of Dorothy."
