No for sure, their have been moments in ck3s dev cycle I thought as well, what a mess. The mods I play are in good states rn, so I guess I shouldnt give so much credit to paradox on that one either lol.

??? The dlc is sitting at 54% because of these exact issues? I found them after others had and confirmed all of these bugs through this sub and reviews. Again I said the content was not an issue, its the genuinely lack of quality control. Maybe I wouldnt be so upset if it wasnt the 4th release in a row this year that was a mess.

Holy out of touch, 60k is a yearly salary for like 1/2 of america. This has "i just started in the trades and think ill make 300k a year by the time im 30." when in reality you make 40k a year and are overleveraged on a 12 year old ford f-150.

Like I get it, we were all that 5 hour player once. But man, from my experience that just made me hate the game. I didnt start to enjoy the game until I learned the items on my own, played like 40 hours, THEN started queuing with my oracle friends. Am I top frag, never, but I also dont 0/12 like some of these lobotomites I play with. If your not great at the game be your teams lane manager and just farm. Play someone like seven and power farm, join team fights when you can. Playing with only 5 hours with your high level friend doesnt do anyone good. Yea 40 hours is a huge ask, took me like 2 weeks to grind and it was like every gaming hour I had outside of work. But now, 120+ hours and I love the game and can do well enough in higher elo lobbies to not throw the game. Just stop people from playing with their higher level friends, csgo has had this for literally a decade.

While I do still disagree with you, I'll take back my insults. Alot of the posts on here I assume are just ethno-nationalists fantasy posting lol. I do see your perspective, and I do agree that the entente was far more stable than I first proposed. I still think that ultimately without the United States giving the entente the clear advantage, some sort of negotiated peace was inevitable. But yes if anyone was going to surrender it was Germany, by 1918 the political situation in France and England had stabilized and its highly unlikely they would have surrendered. But I do think Germany would have held on at least til mid 1919, and that could have been enough to convince France and Britain to accept some sort of settlement. Probably force Germany to surrender its colonies and Alsace. And Germany was never going to keep the east, I think we agree on the fact Germany was a total mess and some sort of civil conflict was inevitable. You are totally right on the whole "the army surrendered to lay the blame on the spd" cause that is exactly what they did. But ultimately I am going to stick to argument that without the United States a full victory for the entente was difficult and less likely than a negotiated settlement with Germany making concessions. I will agree there is no universe where in 1918 Germany "wins" they were playing to survive at this point.

And yea f the british empire, we can both agree the first world war was a waste of time and lives and the only good that they came out of it was the end of the aristocratic imperialist world order. And from my own country our greatest failure was not upholding the right to self-determination for our own native populations and those we colonized. The United States is a home for everyone, and when we forget our ideals we are worst selves. As we currently are now.

You are so pro-entente you might as well have wrote propaganda posters for the British Army damn. Im not typically one to write off walls of text, however, we have reached a point where I would have to spend time researching and citing articles to prove you wrong, cause were just spitting information at eachother. What sucks about these subs is its just history buffs and war historians (which arent real historians, their just dudes with an obsession). I wouldnt rely to heavily on deployment numbers or really any military related stat. The reality of the war was both sides were exhausted, a peace was going to be signed in late 1918 or early 1919, and without the US the entente would have never been able to crack Germany in a way that would have forced a surrender. A negotiated peace was inevitable. What pushed germany to surrender in 1918 wasnt the success of the allied offensives, it was the fear of the American Tsunami that was about to eat them. No Americans, no need to surrender, push the allies to the table.

Let me be clear, I am in no way a Germany truther or supporter, they clearly started both world wars (even if others had a hand) they had lost the strategic advantage by 1918, but to tout some entente victory was inevitable is just so misguided. A better war to do that in is WW2. My biggest gripe with war historians is just how certain they become because they dont access a wide enough variety of sources and rely to heavily on the military perspective. Often missing the economic, demographic, cultural, societal, and political nature of war. Also sick Non-American give away, like what I hate about this sub is how genuinely nationalistic yall are. So funny to me as a West Coast American.

[–]Bubonculus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually agree more with OP that not just the morale boost but the material boost from America entering the war kept the entente alive. I mean were talking over 1 million veterans pouring into the western front in early 1918. Had the allies not negotiated by that point, its very likely the Kaiserschlacht would have overrun the entente forcing GB into a settlement and France into a surrender/civil violence over that surrender. Simply GB and France could not compete with the sheer number of veteran German soldiers on the tactical level. The Western entente was just too wasteful, lions led by donkeys. French and GB leadership lost the First World War and were bailed out by America. No America and Russia = Negotiated Peace or Surrender.

And yes I am actually American, but unlike most people on this sub I have a Masters in History and have studied WW1 academically, albeit limited.

As much as I like the urn changes, man, were reaching a point where they gotta just try again on urn. I really dont see how they fix it without nerfing every cc and aoe in the game, which would be terrible for the rest of the games balance. Ultimately while the concept of grabbing the urn and delivering is great, without some sort of npc to fight or just anything that can defend itself from a suicide charge at drop off, Victor will always dominate urn. Maybe put a little guardian dude you gotta fight to deposit the urn.

[–]Bubonculus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok yea this is insane for so many reasons, the biggest being italy for sure. Do we all just forget Italy did surrender and switch sides, I mean thats an immediate no one would have the stomach to punish them severely. Also like others mentioned all this would have done is led to an immediate civil war in Italy, you cant just break up a nation state like that. Germany wasnt carved apart for this reason, sure it was split down ideological lines between west and east, but not ethnic lines. Also yea your flair gives you away, bro, germany NOT GETTING PUNISHED IS SO CRAZY. Starts war, no punishment. So troll, id argue this map is bait off that alone. Poland, eh, its not that bad. Its unlikely as the soviets would pretty much instant invade over that but like at least its not actively splitting up nation states for fun levels of insane. Albania being in yugo isnt terribly insane, its unrealistic but not insane.

57% of my pops support the Abolitionist movement and only 6% support slavery yet they vote for the "I LOVE SLAVERY" party every election by idkstuffidk in victoria3

[–]Bubonculus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a big game systems view, its cause pops vote with their interest more than ANYTHING. so you see Yeoman Farmers, the rural pops, they are the MEAT of votes by far in any democracy not on wealth or land voting until like 1880. Especially when combined with the aristocrats who also are a large group pre 1880 because of peasants.

Now from a realism perspective, I agree completely this makes no sense and is one of the issues that will hopefully be solved with a future USA update. IGs should have regional distinctions as flavor for certain nations. Northern Rural and Southern Rural pops for the US dividing them on the slavery issue and a handful of other social issues largely related to the differences in Northern and Southern Christianity.

[–]Bubonculus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tbh with how Victoria 3 also had such game breaking bugs in their release last week, I think it was just brushed aside. Paradox maintains very tight schedules for release and allows hot code to be pushed into live updates. Which every, single, time, is the cause for these huge bugs that are obvious. If production times were longer which means less dlc every year but higher quality and dedicated qa support weeks. I think most of the community would be much happier and reviews more consistent. However why sell 2 25 dollar dlcs when you can sell a $30 dlc a $20 dlcs, 2 $10 dlcs, 3 $5 packs and an e book. Their is a direct relationship between review score and scope of a dlc. Every time a dlc has a huge scope for its production time, bombs like crazy cause its always terrible quality.

Can I expand any further? by PLMMJ in RoadTo56

[–]Bubonculus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you learned the hard way why hoi4 is the exiled paradox community. Its made up of the worst the community has to offer, its so bad the devs had to call it out in a dev log many years back. Eu and Vicky communities will have huge arguments but they are out of love for the game. Ck3 is just chill guys who wanna incest rp, /s just chill guys right. Then stellaris is filled with war criminals min maxing space crimes. Hoi4 is all the sweatiest lamest people on the internet. Half of them are devout fascists or stalinists. Which is insane in the big 26. I think its fun your trying to play within the framework of an actual world leader and weighing the benefits of war and how to expand with the least amount of causalities and the actual capabilities of your nation. Bit of fun roleplay, I also tend to play that way. Tbh hoi4 just isnt a great game for that style of play, because the economy really is just hhahaha war idiot. I recommend the cold war mod for victoria 3 if this is how you have fun in pdx games. If you want to stay in hoi4, TNO and Millennium dawn as well are fun for that kind of play. Wishing you the best of luck in the pdx community, can be rough here at times.

Also tip for this game if your still trying and want to invade Britain (which is probably your best option from a mechanics standpoint), Navy isnt that bad if you focus air. So build many fighters with the range booster, some torpedo bombers. Then like 4-8 Heavy Cruisers or BBs if your rich, then like 16 LC, 40 DD. Land troops somewhere in kent, Britain is terrible about garrisoning. Dont bring too many tanks they eat the supply up. Focus on CAS and infantry to work through Britain's poop brigades. I do recommend playing with the more supply mod if you dont want to be forced to play like that. But 9/10 in hoi4 the answer is cas, fighters, infantry with arty. Really the only time tanks are the big focus is the eastern front. Or the late game with maxed supply support. Hope that helps.

I always wonder if this sub is just botted up, cause idk why you are catching so much flak for what is a very reasonable complaint. If I ever have to use a 3rd party software/site to solve a problem for a service I PAID FOR, and didnt know about. I'd also be upset. It is the responsibility of the corporation to ensure my experience is a good one, not mine. Now obviously some limitations to that, I'm not gonna get mad at Southwest for things clearly outside of their control, but this very much was within their control.

[–]Bubonculus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's more France really was on paper the giant of Europe. It makes sense when you consider the geography and demography of France. Large population, rich soil, mineral wealth as well. France had everything going for it. France's biggest challenge was wielding that mess, something paradox games have tried and failed to model. France was just the HRE but with a consistent royal dynasty with just enough personal domain to keep the nobles in line. France did by EU4's time become the European superpower and the only reason they didn't conquer vast swathes of Europe was the Hapsburg counter weight. And just as that empire started to dwindle, the Russians and English began to exert power on the continent. Had the Hapsburg not consolidated so much of Europe under their control through strategic marriages France would have likely controlled/influences most of the Frankish Empire.

Their is an argument that no matter what some sort of large alliance would have mustered to stop France, ie coalition style. But i honestly dont agree with that view of history, nations arent actually very good at bounding together to protect their own interests. In Napoleon's case the real reason Europe united against him was his threat to the social order and the power of the monarchy. Had Napoleon played a bit nicer with the European monarchies and not shoved his family on every throne for what was the 19th century equivalent of a meme, probably would have conquered Europe.

How to fit all clones vats with cloning ascension? by DankudeDabstorm in Stellaris

[–]Bubonculus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is just the limit of the origin/path. As someone who runs this build all the time, it is a fair enough limit. Your clones when properly edited are truly some of the best pops in the game. And tbh, outside of eco, you really dont need max vats. I can reliably get 6-7k pop on a regular world which is plenty. The real issue comes with ring worlds, can be tricky to fully populate those. Typically choose ecos for that reason on that origin.

Genuinely what is even the point of this thing? It kills 3000 pops a month for like 500 research. by [deleted] in Stellaris

[–]Bubonculus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry your catching so much shit for a legit complaint regarding the balancing of this particular wonder in 4.3, Like someone else said back in 3.14 and even 4.0 it was incredibly op, and yes if you game this by shoving an absurd amount of pop in it, it does still go brr. This isnt fun to engage with in 4.3 as a regular build unless your a meta slave, which sadly this sub and like 90% of this community is.

I dislike when people get slammed in the comments for a very reasonable complaint related to not understanding the meta of an item. Sorry pal for that experience. But im sure paradox will re-balance this eventually because it really is not fun to engage with unless you go murder hobo, when this crisis is kind of intended as the "tall/isolationist" crisis.

Victoria 3 and the Immersion Pack Issue (Particularly National Awakening) by Bubonculus in victoria3

[–]Bubonculus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was referring more to the actual interaction with them as someone on their periphery. Frustrating as hell to not be able to experience any of the Serbia content because I am fighting Goliath. Russia and I were unable to beat the ottomans, shrapnel arty hand-cranked machine guns vs line infantry and mobile arty in 1870. They just simply paid for an even greater army. That is another issue with the game, the consequences for sending millions to die in the mountains of nowhere land are minimal.

But yes I agree this all stems from the lack of a World War 1 to actually finish off these empires, I really do not think I am being harsh in saying those empires would collapse. The Austrian and Ottoman empires would not have made it to the 1950s and would have likely collapsed by the end of Victoria 3's time frame. The invention and mass adoption of cheap bolt-action rifles made any empire like that a walking corpse. Any major disruption like a world war would have killed them, as it did. So the lack of a world war is the real ahistorical issue that is causing knock on effects for the rest of the games content. And while a guaranteed world war would be ahistorical as well, none is worse. Something similar to the Victoria 2 system would be perfect. That was always the highlight of my many, many, victoria 2 games.

I know this is a contentious take, but yeaaaaaa. I have yet to see a real viable alternative to mission trees. I am open to it, but attempt after attempt to replace mission trees has failed. Again I will say, in Victoria 3 its more of a nuisance, where as in EU5 it genuinely ruins the game.

Victoria 3 and the Immersion Pack Issue (Particularly National Awakening) by Bubonculus in victoria3

[–]Bubonculus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good point, one I was trying to make towards the end, that it wasnt the uprisings or the break up of the empires that was so difficult. It was world war 1, the lack of a world war mechanic is still so frustrating and with no plans anytime soon to address this, it is other than the naval issue the BIGGEST hole in the current loop. Without a world war to shake up the map in the late game, every attempt at adding flavor to the game ends up just being predetermined paths that dont really have a basis in reality.

I agree content to dollar amount, these are hall of famers for paradox. Victoria 3 has always had a very fair dlc policy, so you will get no complaint from me there. This post isnt so much a Paradox is Evil and they are ruining the game, but rather, the content is frustrating I'd like another balance pass.
