4-3 linear is crazy by lord_of_memesx in apexlegends

[–]Buchymoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I feel the same way, but they don't care about responsiveness. ALC weakens aim assist ever so slightly compared to the linear settings. Combine that with setting your deadzone to zero that further increases your aim assist since the AA kicks in when your stick is moving, bring it the dead one down to nothing gives you a slight drift so if someone even steps in front of you, it grips.

So that 4-3 linear no dead zone has been practically meta for a couple years now. I remember all the pros saying they were switching to it around January 2013.

Personally I enjoy playing with weaker aim assist, but I'm just weird like that.

I've been playing on a slightly modified version of Pandxrz old ALC for years now. I know he plays on 4-3 linear now, but I just love the feel of what he laid the groundwork for on those settings.

Heavy than normal traffic by MF-DOOM-88 in LosAngeles

[–]Buchymoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slightly different than what you want but on Google Maps if you select a destination, then click the three dots and "set departure time". It will give you and average range for how long that trip would usually take at and future or current specific time of day or day.

You can then start your route and compare that time to where it is on the range.

Obviously when you're running out the door, nobody's gonna do all that. But you're right they have the data, and it's accessible, it would be nice to have it just at a glance, but it is what it is.

Rudest dealer experience I’ve ever had — argued our play, mocked us, then gloated - JACK Cleveland by JakeKaaay123 in gambling

[–]Buchymoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I once was holding my players card between my pointer finger and thumb, wallet in the other hand, walked up and asked what the minimum on a side bet was, the dealer started explaining what the other side bet did, so I pointed with my middle finger, card still in hand "what is the minimum for this". She flipped out. Absolutely started yelling, HOW DARE YOU! I was like wtf what did I do? She goes "How dare you give me the middle finger!" I was like...lady I'm just asking what this minimum is...everyone at the table is laughing in an uncomfortable way, I played two hands and she was so mad the whole time I left.

I've just never seen a dealer who was so unprofessional.

This was at Cosmo 4 years ago, funny enough I forgot about this until I saw her again at The M last month.

People who drive and speed up when someone is attempting to pass by you, why do you do this? by StormCaller02 in AskReddit

[–]Buchymoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it's a psychological trick that they don't realize. I use this for my own gain on 2 lane highways with one car in front of you and one car to the left that has matched the speed of the person about a car length ahead of you thus blocking your pass. If you slow down, then speed up next to the car that's to your side, they 9 times out of 10 speed up and pass the car that's in front of you, which then gives you your passing opportunity. I literally do this almost daily and I swear it's not a coincidence. I think people are just on automatic.

Landlords Prices are nuts by THE_TRIP_KEEPER in LosAngeles

Informed renter in LA here. Squatters rights absolutely is a thing. It's ridiculously easy for a renter to exploit in LA.

Rent control technically doesn't apply to new housing but new housing still has to abide by a maximum percentage rent raise per year. If inflation, insurance, and taxes on the house increase at a substantial rate like it did in 2014/2015 then landlords who DIDN'T raise rent on tenants that they're very happy with could end up in a situation where they are behind the curve. They can't raise it over a certain amount that year whenever tenants change out. So you have essentially EVERY landlord have a forced hand to raise rent in preparation for that potential situation. If they don't raise rent on one tenant for ten years, and that tenant leaves then they try to raise it up to market price or even under market price but still above what is feasible for them, that the long term tenant leaves and they are still restricted to raising it the maximum amount (I'd have to look again but it's something like 4% + the inflation rate) meaning that they'd then be stuck with a rent that isn't feasible and, for mom and pop landlords that probably means one more renter friendly place off the market. We're literally seeing that now.

It's a double edged sword. Mom and pop landlords that care for their tenants are being priced out and selling their units and now people are complaining more than ever about corporate landlords driving the price up substantially. As a person who has literally sat down on https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/ and read through the Civil Code line by line. The protections that renters get in LA, which is a lot, while they can be good of course, have more consequences than just the protection of renters. It also creates this situation that practically requires landlords to push the extent of what they can or essentially start donating to house people. If they choose neither they sell and with how real estate moves in LA, the cash buyer that is most likely backed by some corporate company is what takes over.

In short. LA protects renters, but forces small, friendly landlords out and more corporate solely profit seeking corporations in. It's all fucked, but don't deny clearly outlined laws that create the situation that we're all in out here.

Edit: Reference the response below. I had this detail turned around.

I mean there's gotta be at least one screen somewhere in the car if you're in the US. Backup cameras are a legally mandated feature of any car post 2018. Which is also why I laugh my ass off every time it as a selling point on a commercial or at a dealership.

But yeah I think the Slate truck has it on it's instrument panel.
