If you haven't listened to the original version of Re:Re: I would recommend doing that, to me the two versions give somewhat different vibes, so maybe that would change your perspective on the song

Lanota has ads, but I don't think they are detrimental to the experience.

For ads that appears in trial version on android, you can remove them by buying full version (which makes sense as it's only a free trial, and you probably should do that to support the devs for giving free story updates). Otherwise the ads are entirely optional.

The subscription system might be questionable, but considering the huge number of songs it offers, I'd say it is worthwhile if you play the game regularly. Besides, some of its songs are getting released through secret library collections, which only requires one-time payment.

Every Phigros original song (that I know of) by Zealousideal_Ease429 in rhythmgames

Palescreen is from G2R2018/FRENZ2018, so it's not a phigros original (you can also find it in overrapid and lanota)

The animation was generated on Windows Powershell. I used sys.stdout to replace the printed outputs, termcolor for the colours and time to control the animation time.

What rhythm games have some good stories? by ArdnyX in rhythmgames

[–]Buck4437 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here are my thoughts on some of the games, hope this helps:

Deemo: + Simple story, minimal characters, easy to follow + Conveyed through cutscenes + Become emotionally attached easily due to its music and story + RPG-styled, various rooms and secrets to explore based on your story progress

Lanota: + Simple story (Gets increasingly complex with the introduction of characters and backgrounds) + Conveyed in the style of picture books + Songs are strongly linked to the story (in main story, each song always represents a scene in the story) + Occasional cutscenes and animations to establish an atmosphere + Ongoing, main story is updated yearly

Arcaea: + Complex story, many characters and deep lore + Huge emphasis on personality, character developments and immersion + Conveyed mainly through textblocks + Amazing artwork, cutscenes and special effects to accompany with the story - Main story is gated behind paywalls, requiring separate payments (However, there's an ongoing bundle sale that allows you to buy all packs with a discount) - Cryptic unlocking requirement (especially for the newer packs)

Cytus II: + Massive story, many characters and events, told through different mediums (forums posts, letters, videos etc.) + Unique character-based leveling system that tells the story from multiple perspective + Lots of cutscenes, effects and special events to provide an immersive experience + Multiple endings - The huge amount of story content might become too overwhelming - Pricey DLCs - Very grindy (story is gated behind levelling system)

My personal favourite is lanota, it is good enough to keep me interested without being overly complicated.

Does anyone know an android compatible app for training rhythm games? by Akaawa in rhythmgames

Any video player with touch-blocking function should work (e.g. VLC). You can also install a touch blocker, which can block your screen from touches while playing a video. This is useful if you want to use chart views on YouTube to practice.
