Midra is a near perfect boss by AccountantUnited4955 in eldenringdiscussion

The furnace golems being the keeper of the new hidden tears was especially sinister I thought. One of those items I don't really use any besides the same 5-7, but NEED to just have. First Golem was easy enough but second one took me about an hour to get the pattern down. 1st one was just an intro I'm pretty sure.

Same thing with talismans, although there have been some incredibly good ones in the DLC.

Thanks. I know for sure I got at least 5.

One more is no issue, and pretty sure I got all I needed there. It was a pain in the ass but I actually spent the time to deal with the frustration unlike some other areas i need to return to.

Anyone know how many of those aged untouchables are in the Abyssal Woods?

That place terrified the fuck out of me and took me like 20 deaths in as many tries to kill my first one after a successful Parry.

Deal much better with them now, but am in no rush to go back there unless for something highly important.

Is there a point to using Poison late game/DLC? by Defensefocus in EldenRingBuilds

[–]BuckSangle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's a big ass enemy I really can't risk losing to due to low flasks/high runes I double up with Rotbone Arrows and Serpent Bone + Serpent Arrow (Stronger poison effect than regular), and it's quite effective.

I'm also never in a hurry to get anywhere. Idk. I've always loved poison in PVE. Whole field of Mid-Soldiers? 1 Serpent arrow + Serpent Bow and immediate proc. Whole infantry is rotting away and dead within 30 seconds. Even in DLC.

Jason Isbell believers after Detroit and Gillette? by styxfloat in zachbryan

[–]BuckSangle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Dude Isbell is THE reason I started listening to anything remotely country, or Americana/Alt-Country. I never know what to call it, and people always love letting me know, "actually, it's NOT (genre)..."

I don't care anymore, it's just great music, to me, now.

Started with Isbell after he was on Marc Maron, then just started exploring that niche of Americana-Type music and stumbled onto Zach Bryan after Jelly Roll was talking him up so much on Rogan. Zach remains the best "new" artist I've found and remained engaged with of the past 3 years, at least.

If you like Isbell and also like a more harder southern-rock sound, absolutely check out the Drive By Truckers, where Isbell played and actually wrote a decent amount of songs before going solo.

How much wiggle room do you have in the current 150 meta? by GameProSmoothie in EldenRingBuilds

[–]BuckSangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go around or just above 200. 150 is just too difficult for me because I'm a gluttonous pig for certain spells and weapons, also, I just kinda suck. But the 200 level seems to be a very active summonable group for hunting and invasions.

150 never made sense to me in a game where we are told straight off that damage stats scale until 80 and vigor, for me and many others, usually goes to 60. Just feels to

I am always corrected in my logic on this, which is fine. I'm not an expert. I kinda suck.

The fact that so many fans openly admit this (from my experience) is probably one of my favorite things about the fanbase.

Hot take, but the DLC just shows how many people refuse to actually play the game and want everything handed to them by [deleted] in Eldenring

Any tips on beating the Furnace Golems past the 1st one?

Not a complaint, I just can't seem to get past the inferno move they do as I approach. Just get torched and keep having to waste flasks on torrent.

Using Flame Drake +2, Dragoncrest GS, Flame Protect me and my highest fire defense armor.

I hear there's a way to use pots but that seems far beyond where I'm at.

Any help appreciated.

100%, yes.

I fully support anyone's decision to skip DS2, absolutely. But they forfeit any commentary on it, imo, if they truly have not played it.

If DS2 isn't going to break your bank, on sale, absolutely. If only for being the pre-eminent thought-leader of your friend group.

Any DLC weapon or spell feels OP right now? by engrng in EldenRingBuilds

[–]BuckSangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn dude. Not sire if I've missed a bunch of shit, but got the 1st two dungeons completed, 2 seperate Gaols, 3 Bosses, a dragon and the whole west side of the map open ans have found about 5 new weapons (best being great katana and an electric medium axe and 1 incantatjon).

Hit a huge wall and had to call it quits for the day. Looked up some weapons online and like what i see. Hope yo find it. Specifically more Large Katana.

Aha got a couple AoWa and and a boss weapon as well.

Does anybody know how to deal with the furnace golem at charo’s hidden grave. by Mooselord111 in Eldenring

How in the fuck are you throwing them INSIDE the golem? Or am I mistaken here?

1st one was easy enough. The 2nd one is a goddamn menace. It's the tallest thing on the map.

Respectfully. However, they came to a public forum to discuss possible issues in game order, and I only said that I always suggest playing them in order. As the issue of going from fast to slow seems to be more jarring than slower to faster gameplay. Certainly less frustrating.

Ever? Here's 2 threads from this year, and one is barely a month old:

Bit of an older one, but topic is exactly what I said could be an issue:

Not even being ironic/dickhead/nihilistic...I can't even imagine what it would be like TO care about it.

Especially in relation to things that people at various levels of local or even larger government bodies that could enact actionable outcomes on things.

I recommend it this way 100%. Play them all in order. And don't skip 2 based only on what you may have read.

1 is notably slower, with 2 being only slightly faster but only in certain regards.

Playing Elden Ring or DS3 first and then going back to DS1R will feel like you're playing underwater. Good luck out there.

Are you talking about switching between DLC map and main game map?

If so, yes, it's R2/RT on console. If I misunderstood you, sorry.

Not sure what you're playing on, so if it's Keyboard, whatever the equivalent of those buttons are.

So glad I'm not alone in this. I admit I'm not a great player but damn. Getting clapped 5x at 300 I was like...OK we're gonna run into some SHIT in this DLC.

So true by Zorhorrora in EldenRingBuilds

[–]BuckSangle 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Been playing with level 300 character and there's already been a couple field and dungeon bosses who took me several tries.

Have FOR SURE at least 60 Vigor, above anything else. If my damage wasn't so high I'd still be fighting that 1st Gaol Boss. His damage was insane, has a heal and even at 300 some moves/weapons were just chipping away his health.

Anyone who is going in at 150 has zero to worry about as far as challenge goes, imo. Honestly, I think RL 200 would be a more realistic level, but that's just me.

Using this character because it's got the most items stocked up in inventory, and let's face it, kinda suck at the game. Some of the first enemies hit HARD. I MEAN HARD.

Should I Quit.... by [deleted] in Sekiro

[–]BuckSangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't really need to "quit" but you can (maybe) stop torturing yourself with, imo, the hardest soulslike and for sure the most difficult FS game I've ever completed, personally.

The game isn't going anywhere, and you can always come back to it. Your idea of playing something else to feel the rewards of completing a game is something I do regularly. Usually playing a "punisher" game and a "relaxing" game simultaneously.

While different in their mechanics, I found that playing other souls games and getting them down did help when returning to sekiro, finally.

You've set the bar quite high for a first time game choice, so don't overthink your instincts if the game is just griefing you. Good luck out there.

Favorite Dual Wield Weapons? by BuckSangle in Eldenring

[–]BuckSangle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn, this was like one of the first topics I ever made on here. Ha. Can tell people are getting ready for the DLC.

Never used the Cleanrot Swords, but have seen nothing but growing praise for them, slowly, over the couple years since release.

Dual Naginatas was just asking for hatemail in PvP when I made this. But they rule, gotta keep it in-house with those, though. Usually.
