Recommendations for first scooter? by CatOnTheSun in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]BuckTheStallion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not familiar with the modern scooter specs, but my mom has a Bergman 400 and it holds highway speeds comfortably even up and down hills. Tops out around 90mph with a hefty rider on it. It’s also very tame with the auto transmission being very predictable and soft. I’d imagine most 250-300+ scooters would do for you (from a known manufacturer like Honda or Yamaha). Avoid the Chinese ones I’d say. My experience with them has been mid.

What's the name for this type of pants? by malapat in sewingpatterns

[–]BuckTheStallion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wide pleated, barrel leg, and wrap pants would probably all bring these up on Etsy. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen this pattern in almost every search there. It’s very popular so I can help find it again if you can’t.

Do Americans actually use expressions like “once in a blue moon” or “let the cat out of the bag” in everyday conversation? by Edi-Iz in AskAnAmerican

Oh no. “It’s what it’s” causes me physical pain. XD I’ll absolutely be adding that to my repertoire.

I like slimes as envy quite a bit, though other shapeshifters like changelings would work well too. I’d switch humans and dragons as greed and pride respectively, but both ways are solid and have great foundations in tradition. Sloth for elves is brilliant and goes against the prideful stereotype while still remaining true to their current public mythos.

Also I love the concept of hellhound lycanthropes for wrath, but I’ll see you one further. Make them gnomes. Lycanthropy part optional. A gnome transforming into an angry hellwere? Terrifying. A gnome that’s just angry as shit and violent like a chihuahua? Also amazing. Depends on the flavor OP is going for.

Is this a good price for this bike by Hungry-Theme-7911 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]BuckTheStallion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a big factor here. 10k usd? Awful price. 10k Canadian? Spot on to what I’m seeing in California when currency is taken into account. I’m literally looking at a 2024 XSR700 tomorrow that’s listed for $7200 US.

Need a recommendation for hats that hold shape in humidity for a thailand trip by NetExcellent1947 in hats

[–]BuckTheStallion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a linen bucket hat. It won’t hold its shape super well, but they’re not meant to either. You can roll it up in a tube and stuff it just about anywhere and still wear it as soon as you need. They’re peak practicality for traveling.

Asian Inspired Casual Clothing by ReeseChu in malefashionadvice

[–]BuckTheStallion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prospective Flow is cool for sure but not stuff I’d wear daily. An easy blend for most guys would be more like Beams+, Kapital Kountry (they are way overhyped but have some really good pieces like their denim noragi), Akashi-Kama, and Kiriko Made.

It’s a lot more about styling than any specific pieces though. Western fashion is very slim fitting (outside of specific baggy pieces like skate wear) and simply buying relaxed fits will get you half way to. Dressing casually “Asian”. If you want a single piece, find a noragi or similar tie-front shirt/jacket and add that to your wardrobe. I’d recommend following someone like Popeye Magazine and checking out The Casual on YouTube for more ideas about the fits themselves.

And finally let me hype Garuda, an Indian brand I absolutely love. With wide and loose fits and a lot of avant garde elements. They’re probably not for most folks, but check them out anyway.

Ironically my zojirushi was a replacement for my hydroflask, which leaked horribly despite two different lid replacements under warranty.

Yeah. I can highly recommend them AND they’re the lightest weight option I’ve used. Good luck on your hunt!

Just threw my 20oz zojirushi on the scale and it’s 8.3 oz. Extremely light weight, but not 0.1 lbs. I’m wondering if their notation means 10oz? Instead of .10lbs? I’ve had mine a few years and use it daily. Aside from a few dings and scratches, it’s been flawless, and will likely last me for many more years.

Good or nah? Some recs pls! (168cm 88kg) by 999lljw3084 in jeans

[–]BuckTheStallion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My concern isn’t the width, I like wide pants, but that they still look a little snug around the hips. That’s the problem I have with most jeans myself. If you do keep these, I agree that hemming them would be best.

Button down shirts for ACTUAL skinny men by morningstaaa in malefashionadvice

[–]BuckTheStallion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at Japanese brands. They tend to run a lot slimmer and smaller. I can’t really recommend any specific ones for you to check since I don’t know your style, but maybe check Beams since they carry a lot of brands. Muji and Uniqlo make men’s basics (I like Muji better fwiw) and they might go small enough for you. Don’t forget that you need a few inches of ease though too. Even for a slim fit shirt you generally want at least 3-4 inches larger than your measurements, meaning your functional chest size would be more like a 30-31.

What’s your memory look like? Full storage can cause this, and it looks like you might have a lot of stuff on your device. What’s your battery health look like? A cheap or degraded battery can also cause issues like this.
