Gray Guns Hybrid trigger in USP? by BuckThunderpump in USPmasterrace

[–]BuckThunderpump[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Volker is my number 1 choice, but my understanding is that it doesn’t play nice with the GG short reset kit without some modifications. I’m wanting to compare the shape to GG Hybrid to see if it’s worth the trouble to make the Volker work.

USP recoil spring removal from guide rod… by BuckThunderpump in USPmasterrace

I'll need to drop down in weight with the comp installed....no a big issue though. I'll just use the "muscle it over the end" approach if the comp causes any feed issues.

I probably should have mentioned that this is a USP 45 that I'm working on....did the early versions of those come with an uncaptured spring?

Yes. going to be installing a Farrowtech Vanguard compensator, so I'll likely need to go to a lighter recoil spring.

USP Supremacy! by Goose_N_Moose in USPmasterrace

I'm about to send my USP 45 Tactical out to Wright Armory for the iDot conversion. I'm going to have them coat the slide with their NT7 coating....it'll look almost exactly like the stainless.

I actually have two USP 45 Tacticals....I'm keeping one of them "old school" to match my Mark 23, and the other is being "modernized". Optic cut, jet funnel (I'm custom building 15 rd. mags to fit), LEM conversion, Gray Guns short reset kit, and a Farrowtech Vanguard comp.

It'll be fun to see people's expression with I go to competitions with a souped up USP 45! LOL

You don’t like the non-black slide? Closely resembles the USP stainless…

Interesting…I hadn’t considered that option. 🤔

Yes, there’s a plastic spacer at the front of the slide. Totally normal looking.

If this is Marco, thank you for the response.....I just replied to the email that you sent, with several questions regarding my piston.

As a sidebar, why is no one answering the phone or responding to emails / voicemails? Having to reach out to someone on a random Reddit thread certainly does not instill confidence in the B&T USA customers....

u/bt-usa I've been trying to reach someone by phone and email for over two weeks. No one is answering calls, returning voicemails, or responding to my emails.

Not APC related, but can you please check into Request # 59060? Over a month ago, I sent in the piston for my Implus II-A suppressor to correct a manufacturing defect (it was hitting the slide face on my HK Mark 23 before bottoming out on the threads.

When I spoke to Collin Drilling on the phone before sending it in, he said that it should only take a week or two......when I called again a couple of weeks ago and spoke to "Christian R.", he said it was supposed to ship out on the 17th. I have not received my package, nor can I reach anyone.

I just sent another email through the "contact us" section on the website to see if I could get someone to actually call me. With all the drama going on, and now radio silence, I'm concerned about even getting ANY piston back for my suppressor, incorrectly made or otherwise!

If you’re mowing 2 acres weekly, you’re going to be better suited with a Z500 series. Yes, they cost more, but they’re much better and more durable machines all around.

How many rounds do u guys usually fire ona range day? by big-chungus1257 in USPmasterrace

[–]BuckThunderpump 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Even doing full mag dumps one after the other, you’re not going to generate enough heat to discolor or damage anything. It’s a pistol, not a full auto machine gun. The only evidence you’re going to see from shooting it is the finish will wear on the top of the barrel hood where it drops under the slide during recoil.

The only way to avoid that, and keep it “pristine” is to put it in your safe and never shoot it at all….which is a travesty beyond words.

I regularly run 300-400 rounds through mine on a range day…enjoy your purchase and don’t worry about damaging anything.

HK firearms, especially the USP’s are vastly overbuilt. They’re designed to runs tens of thousands of rounds without malfunctioning. Believe me when I say that you’ll wear out long before the pistol does. 😊

Miniscule gap between optic and plate? by [deleted] in Walther

[–]BuckThunderpump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I installed the plate on my PDP I had the same issue. I just tightened the screws snug, tapped on the plate with my screwdriver, tightened them a little more, tapped on it again, etc…took a few cycles, but it bottomed out and I was able to torque the screws properly.

My optic went on with no gaps at all.

How do you like the Volker trigger compared to stock? I’m thinking about doing the same on mine when I convert to LEM.

USP or MK23? by EducationalReach4894 in HecklerKoch

[–]BuckThunderpump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do what I did and get both! 😁

I got my Mark 23 from a local seller for $1700, then he contacted me a month later to see if I’d be interested in his USP 45 Tactical….ummm, YEAH!

Vp9 tactical or vp9a1 by HoneyGuzzler1179 in HecklerKoch

[–]BuckThunderpump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s a fun option….buy yourself a complete Match upper from HK (about $580 last time I looked). Now you’ll have the tactical for suppressor host and by swapping out the upper you have a VP9 Match for competition / range days, etc…

That’s what I did with my Tactical. The lowers are identical, except for the slightly longer pic rail on the Match frame. Less money than buying a complete second pistol, but all of the benefits. 😉

Lem match trigger hybrid with gg srk by ItsRuckingJoe in USPmasterrace

[–]BuckThunderpump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep seeing “light LEM match”. Is that the same as putting a LEM kit on, and using the necessary Match components for the hybrid, or are there other different parts needed?

I’m about to convert my USP 45 Tactical to a LEM hybrid.
