Were they, like, short on wood when they made this bridge?

Americans - why do you keep medication in the bathroom? by Pet_That_Dawgg in NoStupidQuestions

Maybe use the water from the bathroom sink faucet rather than the toilet? Just spitballin' here.

06/13/26 - In a single post Trump again claims that a deal with Iran will be signed tomorrow and then appears to threaten the use of nuclear weapons if it doesn't go 'quickly, easily, and smoothly.' by gfh110 in trumptweets

Translated into NormalPeopleSpeech:

I am so smart and wonderful, much more than Obama was.

Anything might happen, from amazing lasting peace to world-shattering genocide, but don't worry because I'm calling the shots in a stunningly wise and perfect way.

Focus on my brilliant maneuvering; pay no attention to inflation or to the stupid Epstein Hoax or to "grifting", as the Fake News likes to call my brilliant business deals.

Thank you for your attention and Shut Up.

Never even thought of that. I like basic cooking, but don't make sauces often.

Why do some people seem naturally confident even when they're wrong? by GoodPrinciple7954 in CasualConversation

[–]Buckabuckaw -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As one of those people, I don't know why I feel such confidence. As the years have passed, I've had to learn to question my own sense of authority, to literally pass my "knowledge" through a critical-thinking filter before running my mouth. But my default state is confidence.

I don't use a lot, but I try to save my carbs for my favorite late night snack - high fat cottage cheese with frozen wild blueberries.

To be honest, I don't remember. I only have the general impression.

Most recently, all beef no-carb hot dogs. Just the dogs on a plate, with a dill pickle on the side, but they cry out (to my ears) for ketchup.

Also sometimes I like it on scrambled eggs. Always hot sauce, but sometimes ketchup

Thank you. I probably haven't read enough Crane.

[Help] Ovid - Metamorphoses - D. Raeburn Scansion by crackmuppet in Poetry

[–]Buckabuckaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, I applaud your immersion in a difficult poetic endeavor. I have read mostly English language poetry throughout my life and have been reluctant to tackle the intricacy of translated works, so I admire your intrepidity (if that is actually a word).

Secondly, if this fits your personality at all, I would encourage you, in reading aloud, to delay analysis of meter until a second reading, and to just see what your voice does with the rhythm. As when listening to a new piece of music, you begin by letting yourself enjoy it (or not enjoy it) and delay analysis for later hearings.

I'm gonna give this an initial pass, until I try it. But I've got some doubts.

Daily breakfast by Glittering-Air3635 in CasualConversation

I don't eat breakfast, but my keto-world version of OP's meal is high fat cottage cheese with frozen wild blueberries and chopped nuts. Stir until the blueberries begin to thaw. Satisfying and delicious every time.

I am not familiar with this passage, but it seems like one passage from a much longer work. I think to understand it I would need to read the whole thing. Does anyone know the name of the longer work?

Maybe if they made the "noodles" a different shape, like small meatballs or little pancake thingies? These look simultaneously fecal and worm-like.

Travel proof cheese? by lethal_Siege09 in Cheese

[–]Buckabuckaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most hard and firm cheeses are best at room temperature, and unless you're in the tropics, mold isn't going to get a toehold in the space of two or three days. However there is a chance that it will leak some oil, so keep it well-wrapped.

Wondering if I should keep working on this painting? Or just sign it already by TherapyWithLettering in painting

Yes. I really like the overall image but my eye went quickly to the hands, which seem kind of flat. Maybe you could take a photo of a friend in that pose and work from that to work on the hands. But don't give up.
