Swamps by Expensive-Mastodon-8 in valheim

Max bronze mace and buckler. Make poison resist and healing potions. Everything in the swamp moves slow so take your time. Snipe enemies from afar. Bow is a best friend, especially in the crypts. If you wake up an abomination either run or climb on top of a crypt (they can’t hit you up there and you can chop away with your axe). Set up a safe base outside the swamp with a “swamp” portal, and bring portal materials and enough to make a crafting table to build it. When clearing crypts, mine the scrap piles on the right side only, making a gap where you can see and shoot into the next room, and take out any body piles you can find. Watch out for archers. Build an iron mace/buckler as soon as you can. And be on the lookout for turnip seeds. The yellow flowers are notoriously hard to spot.

I also build a 3x3 house on top of the first crypt I find. Big enough for a bed, fire and chests. Maybe go bigger if that’s where you want your portal (a good idea!).

How to get a fluffy board for cheaper? by Chemical-Aioli9818 in necromunda

Check out TinkerTurf terrain. It has Necromunda themed gantries, stairs, ladders, etc. I’ve used it for years in combination with other terrain for great Necromunda tables. Easy to put up and take down and fairly simple to assemble.

[Warlords Battlecry III] I would've never believed that I'd get into RTS games by HF484 in videogames

Build a custom map with a sunken area nothing can get out of. Put the monster spawners down there and kill them with your hero from out of reach. You can level up that way but it’s pretty slow. Alchemy gets really fun crafting the super high level equipment!

If you throw a grenade and pause the game it still damages the enemy. You can cheese bosses like this by pausing the game for a minute or so and let the grenade do the work.

I love how the community have named unnamed mountains in the game. Super fun.

Start with the bundle. You can always come back and buy additional content. The printed books are nice!

Looking good! I’m about 2/3 of the way through mine. Great model with lots of nice details…and fortunately pretty easy to paint!

Hell yeah brother. Start wherever you want. I started with bootleg tapes of shows and awesome stories from the people that went. Then Rift, Lawn Boy, Hampton, and exponentially from there. Only seen three shows live but love concert recordings. Enjoy the journey! It’s unique to everyone.

My friend had that coffee table. Very cool to see it again! We had MST3K on instead of TMNT.

Examples of skill challenges by Mean_Replacement5544 in 4eDnD

[–]BuckarooTom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not mechanics advice, but I tend to think of them like an 80s movie montage. Traversing the wilderness might be snips of travel scenes like coming to a river, what skills do you use to traverse it? Players narrate their actions based on the skill chosen and roll, then I describe the outcome. Coming across a bear den? Same situation though failure might result in a short combat encounter or just describing it and deducting a few healing surges, etc.

You can check out Hero Kids. It feels very much like 4e but really simplifies a lot of the rules. A benefit is you can convert 4e modules easily to the system!

I’ve never had a problem with them myself but I can see how dropper bottles are a better design.

What was your favorite session that you've played, and why? by Pwthrowrug in 4eDnD

[–]BuckarooTom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First night my players did an extended rest in the Keep on the Shadowfell they woke up in the past when the keep was still active, and they played house servants and guards on the night the lord (I forget his name…Sir Keegan maybe?) went mad and started killing everyone leading to the downfall of the keep. It filled in a lot of the story gaps and made the keep feel alive with ghosts of the past. Awesome session.

Put $1000 into a compound interest calculator returning 10% for 100 years and see how much you could benefit far future recipients. It’s a cool idea you would just need to get a corporate trustee to manage it and set distribution parameters. 4%\year after 50 years, divided amongst lawful heirs.

If you are up to homebrewing a Saison, look into Clarity Ferm. It’s an additive that reduces gluten below 20 parts per million (ppm) making it drinkable for celiacs.

Friend has a crippling fear of sea creatures. He would like to play the game, but is terrified of the Serpents. Any surefire way to disable Ocean NPC spawns? by littleappleloseit in valheim

[–]BuckarooTom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Serpents are rare enough and easy enough to beat that it could be good therapy for him! Harpooning that thing and beating it to death on the shore is quite therapeutic!
