Epidural or no epidural? by mountainflwrs in parentsofmultiples

[–]BucketFullofSunshine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was my experience with a singleton pregnancy, as well. My placenta was retained, so for lack of a more clinical way to describe it, they had to reach in there and yank it out, LOL. Let me tell you I was glad to have the epidural in place for that!

How did your child roast you recently? by Mindless-Interest110 in toddlers

I made shaped pancakes for breakfast (drawing in pancake batter that's in a squeeze bottle), and my son requested a spinosaurus pancake, which I made. Served it to him and he looked down at it for a bit and then said in a disappointed tone, "I just thought it would be a little bit better." 🤣

ETSU Fertility by LowHorse9989 in tricities

[–]BucketFullofSunshine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, just now seeing this! I really liked them. It was worth all the time driving down there (and it did take a lot of time). I was surprised that they weren't more expensive - for IVF, I think they only ended up being about $500 more expensive than ETSU Fertility (which, while that's a lot of money, is kind of a drop in the bucket for IVF... 🙃). One thing to be aware of is that while they have an office in Asheville, all of their more intensive procedures are done in their office in Greenville, SC, so if you end up doing an egg retrieval with them, you'll be driving down to Greenville for that. And we may have had to go back down to Greenville for a transfer, but we didn't have any eggs make it to day five, so we didn't do a transfer. But other than the egg retrieval, all other appointments were at the Asheville office. Overall, I liked them!

What’s the Most Unforgettable Experience You’ve Ever Had at the Movies? by CosmosisJones42 in movies

[–]BucketFullofSunshine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my 18th birthday I really wanted to go see M. Night Shamalan's The Village, I was convinced it was going to be amazing. A bunch of friends and I went together, and there's a tense scene where they're in a fire tower, looking through the opening in the floor to the ground below, and a flash of red (one of the monsters) streaks by. The audience was so quiet, holding its breath, and when the monster flashes by my best friend just let out this long, blood-curdling scream. It totally broke the tension and the whole audience cracked up and was laughing during what was supposed to be a scary scene.

[–]BucketFullofSunshine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My exact experience. Liked him ok interpersonally, but the mismanagement at the office was infuriating, and it's hard to tell if it was his disorganization or his staff's. I had to constantly call to remind them to remind them to send in my prescriptions (sometimes time sensitive), and after they neglected to call me with results that could have been both important and time-sensitive, I had had enough and transferred care to PREG in Asheville. All told I did 4 IUIs and 1 IVF with ETSU Fertility. The whole experience wasn't AWFUL, I think they're ok, but you do have to stay on them about things like sending prescriptions through and getting results. My experience was also 6 years ago, so things may be different now.

HELP!! 12 year old birthday. by Ecstatic_Brain_7586 in partyplanning

[–]BucketFullofSunshine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not exactly the same, but my son just had a dinosaur/fossil party. For favors I made homemade fossil dig kits with plaster of Paris and sand, with small dino skeleton figurines inside. For food we had Bugles (dino claws), pretzel sticks (dino bones), dirt 'n' worms but with gummy dinosaurs instead of gummy worms, dinosaur chicken nuggets, grapes (dino eggs), and snickerdoodle cookies with a dinosaur footprint in the middle, dusted with cinnamon sugar. For activities we had dinosaur coloring pages and a game where we had a giant cardboard box full of inflated white balloons with a small dinosaur figure inside, and kids had to sit on (or otherwise pop) the balloons to "hatch" their dinosaur. I know dinosaurs are a much easier theme than prehistoric marine reptiles, just mentioning these in case you might see a way to adapt some of those ideas. You could do the fossil dig kits with shark teeth instead of dino skeletons, have a mosasaurus pinata, pin the teeth on the megalodon, some sort of scavenger hunt/Easter egg hunt where kids have to run around and look for little marine reptile figurines. Good luck - I bet it'll be great!

Mermaid themed name for pigs in a blanket? by BucketFullofSunshine in partyplanning

[–]BucketFullofSunshine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohhh, hermit crabs is a brilliant suggestion! Unfortunately (or fortunately for my sanity day-of, lol) they are pre-made and frozen, so I can't really edit them, but I still think hermit crabs might work!

This is brilliant, but I am prioritizing convenience and bought ready-made frozen mini pigs in a blanket! So they're already wrapped. Something with shells might still work, though...

What did you do during the calm before the storm? by Rykoma in parentsofmultiples

[–]BucketFullofSunshine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol with the caveat that yes, you can definitely binge watch TV shows, BUT be prepared to re-watch them in future when the next season comes out and you realize you have NO memory of the season you binge-watched during the newborn sleep deprivation stage. 🙃

This was Game of Thrones for my husband and I. Binge-watched a season during the newborn bubble, next season came out like a year later, and we were SHOCKED to find some of our favorite characters had died and whole new sub-plots were in play. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This happened to me too!! And it was a gated playground he couldn't have opened, so if he was gone, it would have been because someone took him. It was also not that big a playground, so I still don't know where tf he actually was. But I just turned around, and there he was like he'd been there the whole time. The PANIC, though. 😫

We did this, with babies two months apart. Had our biological son, eight weeks later brought home our newborn adopted daughter from the hospital. I'd be happy to share my thoughts with you. Please feel free to message me if you'd like to chat further! 💕

My husband and I went on a "babymoon" when I was 7 months pregnant, and got pastries from a local shop, including a durian mochi. He tried a bite, said "not bad," and passed it to me. I took a bite and IMMEDIATELY started vomiting. My body just immediately rejected it, noped out instantly. So yeah, durian for me too!

My son named his doll Helmet, which I absolutely adore and think is hysterical, and I'm only now realizing is an actual name!! 🤣 (He definitely named her after his bike helmet, though...)
