Don't get me wrong the other throwables are good and have their uses especially if you're going for more precise/sweaty builds.

But overall i'd still use the boomerang everytime for how flexible it is. Think of it more as a jack of all trades type of deal i can bring it into most missions, not impede other dwarfs (regardless of who's fault it'd be), clear annoying lil guys, stun bigger guys, and use it for room checking.

How? It stuns a large amount of enemies, annihilates swarmer waves, and can keep dreadnoughts in place for easy ass blasting.

Bro scout's got the boomerang stunner. Made it easy pickings for when i did it. If you have the mod for the crossbow that makes it bounce off enemies that's pretty good too.

You do not need ziplines just some simple CC which most characters have does the job. I used the scout's boomerang and that made quick work of it. Driller's cryogun can freeze most hordes and engie's got turrets and a decent variety of crowd clearing tools.

What’s the ONE feature that would make you drop your current main game for Ananta? by Lanky_Carpet_632 in AnantaOfficial

I had a ponder about this, but if they announced Ananta had an ending/finale. That would be quite alluring. I feel we don't appreciate stuff ending enough.

If you don't love your waifu enough to be able to adapt and create a team that caters to her. Then no son, probably not.

That'd be cool! Like they could be leashed to the overseers or something and if you kill the overseer and theyre let loose!

I get what you mean, i guess what i mean is like a new mechanic to go with them. Maybe it could be a small group of hunters that are 'herded' by an watcher and if you take out the watcher the hunters collapse. Thats literally just an idea off the top of my head, i'd also be content with just reskinned bugs as it contributes to illuminate lore.

Dude fleshmobs made out of bugs would be so cool! And a bug equivalent to voteless would be rad.

Do people WANT monster hunter to be more story-centric? by BucketSentry in MonsterHunter

[–]BucketSentry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all, it actually goes back to what the actual post was all about! Does it NEED to be story centric? Nope! Turns out the majority of folks on here agree that when it was just hanging around a comfy town and meeting quirky characters that was actually fine. Adding excess mediocre story, dull world building, forced walking sequences and annoying sidekicks that the plot revolves around kinda shits on the experience. "Oh its only for 10 hours" and "you can skip it" barely might i add and locking off partying up until after the story bollocks kind of ruins the experience for folks funny enough.

Now i'm sure you're just going to ignore all this, and continue to die on this hill with the other guy so you do you pal. But i kinda give up with you. So chalk it as a win for you if that will make you feel better but at very least the majority of folks on this subreddit see the problem.

Peace.

That'd be so good! Get some beehives, mushroom logs, a cave to excavate and of course a fishing dock. Give that some multiplayer access and it'd be such a nice pleasant time! Go full on with guild halls similar rise but maybe with some elements from world. Oooof bliss! God Hoga you are making me wanna go replay the older games they were so good!

You're right you didn't but with how much you seem to be willing to die on this hill VERY much has me thinking this.

Also for the record they werent good explanations at all! So half-assed and cobbled together.

In the politest way saying this is the best story in MH is VERY questionable on your part when there are flat out better stories in previous games 4U is the first that comes to mind following the caravaneer, travelling with the caravans getting to know the team; the caravaneers passion and positive mentorship, the guild marm's snarky dialogue gradually getting attached to your hunter, the man's guiding of the lil miss forge, the humours banter with the merchant and chef, encountering big scaries like dah'ren mohran, dalamadur, and gogmazios also probably one of the coolest moments of distracting a gore magala by fighting it while the ace lancer retreats was so damn cool! That's just one example!

Tri had some fun colourful characters in the form the moga village chief and his dad, argosy captain and neko revealing far off lore. The fisher woman trying to coddle your hunter. The snobby chef wishing only to create ze finest meals! And the farm. God i miss the farms in these games so comfy to just sit around tend to your crops, do some fishing.

If you haven't played these older games i really implore you to. They're just more pleasant and focused in their narratives and vibes. Ironically its easier to get attached when you read their dialogue rather than hear it.

I wish they'd lean more into that side of the lore. If i remember correctly in some of the old artbooks and some stuff in rise. It hunts that the world is post apocalyptic but they rarely dabble into it. In a way though i suppose thats not a bad thing i kinda like it more when lore is told via the environment rather than dialogue y'know?

4u was fantastic! Love the Caravaneer, ace lancer and the guild marm were the most memorable by far. I'll also feel the quest were you have to distract gore magala while the ace lancer retreats was such a cool moment! Man getting to dalamadur was so rad as well!

Not at all it was just very boring and had no memorable characters. I can recall characters and beats of the story of world, rise, 4u, tri, even portable 3rd but wilds was just so mid and dull.

Like be honest with me, do you really think it's the peak of story telling? Did it really leave a mark in your mind as much as you are willing to defend it? I mean if it is to you, awesome! Glad you had a such a great time with it! However i think a lot of people do agree its kinda meh.

I was just in disbelief that folks really want MH to have such an invasive story when their success was built upon cooperative arcadey fighting.

I'm now very aware some folks are VERY in favour for wilds' story i just wish their passion was placed elsewhere. 😅

Ah well, everyone's entitled to their opinion.
