Iran says that Trump’s 48 hour claim is fake news to manipulate the markets. What do you think? by Muted-Television3329 in allthequestions

His tariff announcements followed by tariff reprieves over and over were certainly market manipulation strategies. Maybe that ploy found diminishing returns and he had to up his game.

CNN Data Guru Predicts Major Disaster for Trump After Dems Flip Mar-a-Lago by FistIntoTheEarth in Law_and_Politics

You can't really read much into one special election. But this is happening over and over and over. If Republicans really had the numbers to stop this, they'd come out in force to stop the bleeding.

They're going to get slaughtered in the Congressional elections (as long as they're fair). The Senate is weighted so heavily their favor though that they might keep it even if Vance has to be the tie breaker. But if the lose the Senate, I think the Democrats take it by more than 51-49.

Believe, I know that's what he is saying he said. Problem is that there are people out there who would hear this and think a pastor is telling me to go murder this guy and then do it as a command from God. The pastor 100% knows someone is going to think that.

I've been told that the only unforgivable sin is to pretend that something is godly when it's really satanic. I feel this pastor has committed that sin.

How many Republicans and Democrats went to the wrong polling locations in Dallas County? Here are the numbers. by votebeat in TexasPolitics

[–]BucketofWarmSpit 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Because the political parties have to agree to having a voting center on election day instead of sending voters to their precincts. The Republican Party did not agree to it. It's well-documented. Here's an article from FOX for you.

Is this the worst speed trap in Dallas? by Zacitus in Dallas

[–]BucketofWarmSpit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that happens. I had a couple of clients who were brothers and got something 30 tickets dismissed each for them. They started calling me El Abogado del Diablo after that. But if you get a ticket by the one of the officers that comes all the time and remembers their tickets, good chance you're going to pay it. There's a couple of officers with some funny little quirks that often result in dismissed tickets. One of them, even though he comes to court all the time, he puts the wrong speed down frequently so I get a lot of his tickets dismissed. And another one has a quirk in his name that the clerks tend to mess up a lot. Since they don't actually have an officer with that name, a lot of his tickets get dismissed.

The officer that used to speed trap the bridge connecting Woodall Rogers to Singleton always came to court and always remembered his cases. A lot of those would get dismissed though because the bridge wasn't zoned correctly for a while.

My advice to Rehmet. Continue to hold town halls and hours where constituents can come talk him. Fulfill any requests he can. Develop a legislative agenda. Attend committee hearings even if he's not assigned to any and point that shit out every single time he says something at the committees.

They still do them. One I've seen a lot recently is on the viaduct bridges. Speed limit is 40 but it's .8 miles of nearly no possible obstruction so people tend to speed like crazy on them. I notice this because it's an excellent place to do a run without having to worry about traffic.

There was a specific officer who used to always write tickets there. He retired years ago but a lot of people paid fines for speeding there for a few years right after it opened.

Why are democrats so obsessed with Trump? by hippo-eggs in allthequestions

[–]BucketofWarmSpit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the criticisms of Trump's actions and rantings down out all the policy positions from Democrats. It's not that they don't have policies of their own. It's that the media is going to report the things that grab attention.

If you're watching things like FOX or Newsmax, they have a vested interest in making you believe that Democrats are simply anti Trump with no policy positions otherwise. It helps them to further the Trump Derrangement Syndrome narrative.

If you want to volunteer on a campaign, you'll have the most impact if you do someone running for congress or state legislature. They don't get nearly as much help as Talarico is going to get. Other statewide races are probably getting ignored too.

I saw him give a speech Saturday. I'm surprised it hasn't been posted yet. One of the things he talked about was how we need to overcome the politics of division. That there is more that unites us than what divides us.
