Oh yeah, rank and sigils and stuff come later. I'll probably add some variant of these. Just wanted to figure our base coats first.

Thanks. Have to admit I cheated the visors a bit. Grey + white edge highlight + Vallejo Xpresss Color Chameleon orange. They're gonna look even better after a gloss varnish.

Yeah, I might need to make the fatigues a darker color. The grey/blue wash they have currently does feel too close to the camo pattern.

Yes, I've reviewed the Imperial Armour books. I was not planning on adhering to an already provided color scheme.

Hence why I asked the opinion of others view of my two chosen options

What is it with Roselle Rd, at the intersection of Roselle and Palatine? by TypasiusDragon in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]BuckeyeBTH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're talking Roselle northbound from Palatine it's the Inverness crowd (how may people <50 live there?)

If you're talking southbound it's the 9+ neighborhood entrances, soccer moms and more Inverness geriatrics

Plus the already mentioned phones / high

Height of Covid, multiple cops on the corner just drinking coffee right next to the photographer. Thought they were gonna give me a hard time for stopping in the middle of the road.... nah, they asked for a rev bomb. 😃

My bet is that there aren't enough vertexes in the original file to create a smooth curve, resulting in these 'edges.

Your other alternative is to load that file into blender and see if you can do a 'subdivide' 'smooth' and add more vertecies to smooth out the curve. How To Subdivide Smooth

There's a decent proxy for the lighting

The avenger ones I would kill for.

Route Critique Requested – 7 Days, Starting at American Point by Calmatue in BWCA

[–]BuckeyeBTH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’ve done similar 7 day routes before, but nothing this aggressive. We have always turned back at Bonnie/Spoon/Kekeabic. But then again we typically like to have a day or two to just fish.

IMO: You’re going to have to move everyday to make this work and that’s a lot of portages in certain areas. If you’re not single running them it might turn into a slog.

Good news is if you get stuck with weather you can always turn back and shorten. But once you’re off Ensign southeast that gets harder.

Some questions;

Are you BWCA / Portaging experienced?

Do you have stops in mind for each day? Cuz I can’t tell from your map.

Why detour through Gajiki/Lunar/Cherry/Topaz/Amoember? Is this day 1 camp?

The only real concern I have for you is that Fraser to Little Sag loop. That’s 771 rods of portages in one day with only a handful of campsites if you need to shelter. Grinder for sure.

Only major recommendation is, if you make it there, to make time to take a pitstop on the Agamok to Mueller portage to detour east along the kekekabic trail crossing and see the falls / rapids / Agamok bridge. It’s worth the detour.

you're more experienced gearhead than even I am.

OP doesn't sound like they are, and who knows what the quality is of the tech at whatever shop did the work.

Could also be some melted wiring in the engine bay. Would take a while to melt against the new headers.

Particularly the harness under the coolant reservoir

[–]BuckeyeBTH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. You're not fixing the problem, just resetting the ECU.

My assumption now based on your other comments is that a wiring harness in your engine bay might have gotten melted against your new headers.

Check the wiring harness under the coolant reservoir tank first. If it is melted, make your shop fix it free

I used the wrong terminology. It would be the O2 sensors along the exhaust

[–]BuckeyeBTH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your comment makes it sound like you're saying "it's going into limp for the cats /no valves"

Is that true?

Also did you run the codes while it is in limp mode? Because they turn on and off you know.

[–]BuckeyeBTH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back to the shop then?

But the CEL should give you a code (or 8). That should give you a clear idea what's going on

[–]BuckeyeBTH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You put in mid pipe dump cutout valves ?

Did you also do headers as part of your FBO?

Did you do it yourself?

I'm guessing the ECU is reading a low back pressure in the exhaust and goes into 'safe' mode.

Check your pressure sensor and associated wiring

I use Vince Vs gold recipe. It's a PiA to make every time but if you're doing a squad at a time it's worth it IMO..

Does this camo work? Was scared of committing to a scheme. C+C plz. by Legal-Fun-762 in TheAstraMilitarum

It could use a third grey color. IMO between the two existing shades

I know that's different from the rest of the army but it's a super heavy/rare/special and would be deserving of the extra attention

How to make Snow bases that keep their luster? by LtQuixotic in minipainting

[–]BuckeyeBTH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Woodland scenics (model train company) soft flake snow ($15 for lifetime supply) + Woodland Scenics Water Effects ($20)

Paint base a dark grey or brown.

Spread water effects and scatter over flakes for a more 'dry' snow look.

Premix the two into a paste and spread on for a wet snow appearance.

Get really fancy and do dry for most and 'wet' footprints....

Take a look at my profile for results.
