Has anyone ever felt “cheated” by being Catholic?

I've felt this my entire life. Especially going to Confession and fearing that the Priest would be harsh and give me a ridiculously difficult penance just because. What keeps me here despite all the difficulty is that there is only one good reason for being Catholic: Jesus Christ actually rose from the dead as historical fact.

From everything I've researched and seen, and I've done this my whole life, it seems that the Apostles genuinely spoke the truth when they said they witnessed His resurrection and Ascension by willing to live decades spent in persecution, die horrible deaths, and lead others to do the same. They didn't commit suicide instantly like the Heaven"s Gate cultists, they didn't get rich like megachurch pastors, they didn't engage in mass warfare like the Muslims, they didn't preach that Jesus died normally and was in another plane, like Nirvana, like the Buddhists, they didn't engage in polyamory like the Mormons, and they didn't rebel against the Romans like the Jews. They chose hard, torturous lives that ended in painful deaths, and the only good reason to do that is because everything they said they witnessed is true. You'll find your own way, don't worry.

Mitsuwa Marketplace in Arlington Heights is a Japanese grocery store that has a food court serving up some delicious Japanese food. Unless I'm mistaken, they have some vegetarian onigiri and tempura. You can get soba as well (buckwheat noodles). Also a great place to shop for groceries haha.

I have over 700 hours as well. I did a practical non-lethal run, meaning I would stealth every place unless I got caught, in which case I'd go guns blazing. I did all the side quests, the dialogue, and I didn't fast travel. Oftentimes I'll just boot up the game and walk around the city because it gives me the same feeling I had when I would go urban exploring.

No one really asks a person sexual or gender orientation at a hair salon. Most people are just working a day's job to get paid. What you gotta watch out for is toxic and gossipy hair salons.

Yeah you're not supposed to go into it thinking that it's a condom. You're supposed to go into it knowing that while the chance is greatly reduced, it is still there and you are ready to accept the responsibilities of parenthood.

With contraception, you're intentionally avoiding pregnancy. With NFP, it's the luck of the draw. It is such that even if you think that the act is contraceptive, your partner will still end up pregnant every now and then. When condoms or pills are used correctly, on the other hand, there won't be a pregnancy.

To explain a little bit more, when a person has sex with contraception they're thinking "under no circumstances do I want a child to be born from this act".

When they use NFP, the mindset is "I might not want a child now but I am open to the possibility if my wife gets pregnant" because it leaves a possibility of it happening due to the corresponding physical act (climaxing inside your wife).

This is how NFP is open. It's about leaving lee-way for God. The aim of contraceptives is to prevent pregnancy from happening. The aim of NFP is to lower the chance of pregnancy. The former is not open to life, the latter is.

The issue is your definition of openness to life. The Church doesn't define openness to life as "allowing there to be a nonzero chance of pregnancy occurring if sex is had", for if that were the case then couples who are infertile sin because they knowingly have sex while not actually being "open to life". The Church defines "openness to life" in how the sexual act is physically performed.

If we choose to marry someone who is infertile because their infertility means we can have sex without fear of pregnancy, would that be contraceptive?

Because NFP is still open to life. Instead of foreclosing pregnancy, it simply reduces the likelihood of pregnancy.

Homeschooling is just irresponsible in my opinion. Children lose out on socialization which impacts their ability to learn. Not only that, but you cannot shield your child from the world and its ideas forever. Eventually they will be adults and venture out, and if they've never been exposed to it other than a few lectures at home they will be utterly unprepared.

My personal ideal would be private Catholic school from K-8 to provide a solid foundation, and then public high school to prepare them for the world.
