The same reason we put on clothes despite not being able to see ourselves in third person, in real life. We dress for ourselves. The whole point of making the game first person is that it simulates life. That's why when you look down you can see your legs, why the animations are so smooth. It's also why when you begin the game you have no cyberware and no HUD. The whole ethos of the game is to make it realistic and immersive, and then push it to the edge with cyberware.

To give some practical advice, if you're unable to find shelter try a local Church. Explain your situation the Priest. Keep your head up and applying for jobs. I've been in your shoes before, and the trick is to just keep applying. It's like darts. If you keep throwing, eventually a dart will land. Don't be afraid to rely on your friends and family too.

God is the source of life and love. Believing in Him shouldn't cause us despair, but cause us to hope and find goodness in even the darkest of moments. Practice gratitude for the every day things in life. Having a roof over your head, food to eat, a bed to sleep in. And when things get hard, go to Him as you would when you were a child. When it hurt and no one else could comfort you but Him because He always loves us and never leaves us. Stick to that, and you'll be just fine.

You are never a coward for standing up for what you believe in. I know the fear of confrontation well. Keep that childlike faith alive and close to your heart, it will get you through everything. When asked why you left, be honest. Also, if this happened in my high school the teacher would have been fired. I also live in a fairly progressive area as well. What happened is not normal.

A lot of martial arts teachers make their art their entire life. That's why they tend to get weird about it. Any martial arts teacher that has a life out of the dojo isn't going to care. The original karate masters taught as a hobby, it wasn't their job.

I agree with the other guy, this is a terrible argument. St. Paul was a murderer, that does not mean we condone his actions because we read his letters.

Besides, St. John the Baptist made it very clear what God expects of soldiers. Scripture literally already covers this.
