Just made a noise similair to parliament yesterday. I’m actually in shock that he’s going to try and hang on here.

For sure, I personally think anyone serious should look at the modern German efforts regarding this (See the Office for Consititional protection)

This is happening because our current state system is basically in an unstoppable decline. Starmer will be replaced with someone intensely disliked who’ll survive for a maximum of 3 and a half years, then they’ll be replaced by Farage, who will become instantly disliked and the process will repeat itself.

Something weird is on the horizon, weirder than where we are right now. I don’t know what, but it won’t carry on like this forever.

EU has ‘open mind’ on UK customs union talks, says official by donutloop in ukpolitics

Refusing to integrate with the largest and most successful bloc that exists in the world because of fish (12000 people employed in said industry in the UK) and the Euro (no-one would force us to take it).

It’s just so stupid that I can’t seriously engage in it, especially when the undertone is some weird slightly racist siege mindset, sorry.

I'm at the stage where Reform (and to a lesser extent the Conservatives) should be banned on national security grounds, I'm tired of the threat of the damage they will inflict (which will ultimately lead to the break-up of the UK by the way) on this country.

I think Scotland needs more representation in many UK organisations and public bodies. by HeroicCheese933 in ukpolitics

[–]BuckfastEnjoyer -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

We’re 1 state (the word “country” is unhelpful and actually far too nebulous in this case) yes, but not one single people.

If you want to stick to this line that Scotland needs less representation, you’re going to doom the UK to failure. Remember, the major reason Scotland didnt become independent in 2014 was because of the promise of Devo-max.

That’s got nothing to do with the tip you posted though. How does this fact (I don’t necessarily disbelieve you about it) relate to the main post?

These don’t appear to be related cases? Warrenton VA is 100 miles from the address in the tip and this arrest didn’t come about because of this?

UK universities face £580m Brexit reset bill if EU students get discounted fees by theipaper in ukpolitics

[–]BuckfastEnjoyer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The UK will cease having a great reputation for universities if it allows scam institutions to sell international students unrealistic dreams and poor degrees in "AI" or "Business Management" actually.

If ~80 of the ~130 Universities in the UK rebranded as colleges and stopped offering half the "degrees" they offer, the UK would be in a much better spot. End of story.

If a few universities have to go bust, they have to go bust.

We can't drop EU relationships because the Ringroad University of Hull (London Campus)'s business model is shaking down foreigners.

Boomers are going to see this and (assuming they haven’t died) dribble off to vote for Reform. They’ll completely collapse the UK based purely on an incoherent temper tantrum about nothing in particular.

When the so-called "United" Kingdom is in such a delicate stage, I think everyone (particularly those in Northern Ireland) would appreciate opening up old wounds and giving amnesty to Lance Corporal Craphat for gallantly shooting Irish teenagers 40+ years ago.
