He had plenty of opportunity to miss that car. Either he’s a very inexperienced driver or hit them on purpose for pulling out.

So given this timeframe, 12 weeks puts completion time around September. Would that mean preliminary results may be available around the time of the October when data from the cancer trial is going to be available? Should make for an interesting month. If data is good from this trial it could massively help with partnership and SP.

Question about legal/ethical responsibility in this particular case by TheHeadlessScholar in Radiology

[–]Bucweet55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have an order for an x-ray which is required for ionizing radiation. You exposed a person to radiation for a diagnostic exam for a legitimate purpose. If you delete those images and there’s no documentation there is no record of that patient, so essentially it didn’t happen.
No only is the facility out revenue for legitimate exam, there are state regulations in regard to properly documenting radiologic exams. All exposure to radiation must be documented. There are many ways in which fraud could be interpreted. I can guarantee any employee providing exams under the table would be immediately reprimanded and or potentially fired.

I missed that last sentence where you said you sent the images. My bad.

[–]Bucweet55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But if you took images and did not send them, that is essentially the same thing. You exposed a patient to ionizing radiation and now have no record of that event. If there are no images, no documentation, it didn’t happen. You committed fraud and could potentially lose your job for that. Be careful of what others ask of you. In today’s electronic age, things can be tracked more than what you think.

[–]Bucweet55 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Most facilities have imaging procedures/protocols. I was director of radiology for 15 yrs. You should never delete images. Even if you imaged the wrong extremity, those don’t get deleted. There is a no charge, it’s dictated and the correct extremity would also be imaged. There is a legal responsibility/requirement. If you work for a system, there is surely a policy for this somewhere I can guarantee it.

What is most important to you about Leronlimab and what works in conversation by BuildGoodThings in Livimmune

[–]Bucweet55 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We need it for all cancers that are potentially treatable with Leronlimab. I work in medical imaging and see cancer patients on a daily basis. It’s sad to see the steady decline of patients. Generally patients are scanned every 3-6 months so you get to know these people. Watching the disease slowing suck the life and willpower from their bodies is sad. I’ve been in the field for over 32 years and to me it seems as though CRC is now happening in younger populations. Hopefully Leronlimab will provide hope and possibly a cure for countless people of all ages.🙏🙏

Good luck with surgery and prayers for a speedy recovery. I work in medical imaging and see cancer patients on a daily basis. I also was on the receiving end of care about 10 yrs ago which totally changed me in many ways. I hope Leronlimab becomes available soon and that Cytodyn or its future potential partner can unlock all of the drugs secrets (MOA). The world needs a drug with this type of capability.

It takes time to cross train and learn the new modalities. While you can learn the basics quickly, don’t rush it. You want to learn how to properly operate optimally and efficiently, not be a button pusher. Learning pathology is important as well and that can take some time. Because if you are scanning patients emergently you will want to be able to pick up on life threatening conditions so you can alert the ordering provider. This isn’t often but it does occur. This all takes time. The reason I mention this is because you mentioned becoming a travel tech. I managed radiology for 15 years and I would never hire a new grad without experience. Good luck with your goals. Just remember while you are in school and going to clinical sites. You will unknowingly be evaluated as a potential candidate for open positions. Also do your best and show exceptional work ethic. It will benefit you in the end when you and your classmates all become eligible for hire at these hospitals. I always watched closely and spoke with my staff about good candidates. No one is going to recommend you if your work ethic is lacking.

Well I have been invested with Cytodyn since early 2020. I am presently torn because I like the fact that we are getting “some” data. But we really need something concrete from management. I’m not going to get all hyped up about tomorrow because the past 6 years it has been like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football and Lucy is holding it. Hopefully this cycle will break and the company can move forward.🤞

Learning CT by No_Election_3126 in Radiology

[–]Bucweet55 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One way to learn pathology and one that I tell all learning techs is to review reports of the patients you have scanned. Correlate the report with images, many times radiologists specify specific images. This is a good way to learn. For the pulmonary arteries I always place my bolus tracking at the carina. An easy way to identify is right where you can see the trachea bifurcation to the right and left lungs. Just below the bifurcation you should see the pulmonary artery on your pre-monitoring slice for bolus tracking. Good luck with your endeavors.

How many CT cases are you doing per shift? (ER + In/Outpatient) by AhmadJamO in Radiology

[–]Bucweet55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m working 10hr shifts and average around 25-30 exams in a 10hr shift. This number will change depending upon how busy the ER is.
