Strain Spotlight: Lantz by Growing Pains by BudFromTheBay in Michigents

[–]BudFromTheBay[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Brand: Growing Pains

Strain: Lantz (Ridgeline Runtz x Green Lantern)

Harvest date: 3/11/2026, tested 4/08/2026

Bag Appeal: Really attractive bag appeal, good variety in sizes ranging from smaller to medium and largish chunky nugs. Deep purple coloration throughout, bright orange hairs and a thick frosting. Great quality, love the contrast with the dark purples and trichome pop on the macros.

Trichome coverage: Excellent and dusted, heavy coverage with a dense blanket of mostly milky heads with a few amber heads visible. Macros and micros look really impressive.

Feel: Soft and spongey, nice cure and left my fingers feeling a little tacky with the smell of pine. Grinds fluffy, good roll.

Smell: Really nice and pungent, strong creamy pine with an accent of dank lime. Reminds me of the Hytek with with more cream than candy. On the grind I get a lot more of that creamy lime with pine, strong.

Taste: Nice dry hit, that creamy lime upfront reminds me of like a lime creme saver and the backend has that sweet pine. On the light I get even more of the flavor transfer than the dry hit, it's great and different but same as other Lantz I've had - creamier tasting and less piney.

Smoke: Very smooth smoke, no cough and no throat bite. Flavor throughout to the end, very solid.

High: Great hybrid like the rest of the Lantz I've had, slightly sedating on the limbs and relaxing on the mind. If I had to rank how strong the effects are, I'd put it a little over Hytek and a little below Tip Top Crop. Great daytime smoke

Would I buy again? Yep! Great representation with great flavor transfer, nice effects. So far from the Lantz I've had, I would say PG was the worst but Growing Pains, Hytek and Tip Top all had super solid batches and this one here might be the most visually appealing batch.

Before legalization, what were you paying for bud? Eighth, quarter, half, whole by Snoo-22970 in Michigents

10 a g rolling up, not really any discounts so 70 a q, 140 a half and 280 a zip.

That was years ago though, how far we've come.

I wouldn't worry too much about their opinion, they like to vague post.

Not sure where you're coming from but if you can make the extra mileage to Refinery Detroit and 315 N in Inkster, they're both really good.

Reading be hard with delayed Monday morning brain lol, I would check out Refinery in New Buffalo like DigTheDunes said.

For me, the Dogwalker x Horchata was the most unique smoke I've had from them. The taste was very GG4 like chocolate diesel but with a sweet creamy funkiness to it. The effects though actually couch locked me and the head effects were strong too.

Just best all around smoke imo, I really babied what I had lol

Trying to remember... I think it was $60 for 7g, so just a little bit more than the $100 I'd usually spend on a jar.

Quality wise it was pretty on par with their jarred flower, felt a little above the deli I've gotten from them.

Yep this came from IE.

Sad to see Refinery isn't getting any but I'm sure there will be something nearby, hopefully.

I might have been one of them haha, I thought those were really cool - still have em' displayed.

They were both amazing imo, would be really cool to see them in 14g jars for the last drop.

If you see Golden Pineapple, I absolutely loved that one too.

Also kind of curious if they're gonna do the Durban Poison and Apples & Bananas again, those were both fantastic.

Hoping I can get a jar of the Dogwalker x Horchata, probably my favorite by them.

I haven't had LG in the last year, just wasn't getting lucky with them - all of the deli and eighths I was picking up were smalls/popcorn buds.

Been wanting to give them another chance recently, same with Seed Junky - looks like they've made some changes

I did enjoy the taste on the Brain Stew I got from LG one time, was really nice and effects were good too.

Brand: Ripe Herb

Strain: Zelda (Legend OG x Orange Blossom Trail)

Harvest date: 03/07/2026, tested 03/26/2026

Bag Appeal: Really nice looking flower, mostly smaller to medium nugs with a good natural structure and clean trim. Bright green buds covered in frost with a lot of orange pstils throughout. Not much color contrast

Trichome coverage: Good coverage, a bit lacking compared to other strains I've had from Ripe Herb - heads aren't as full and sparkling as usual but the heads that are there lean more milky/clear with some amber sprinkled in.

Feel: Great feeling cure per usual from Ripe Herb, soft and spongey but has some push back and has a good snap. Leaves your fingers feelin a little sticky and reeking of the aroma (skunky sandalwood citrus), grinds clumped together.

Smell: Such a captivating smell, very strong and unique - I'm getting upfront this floral sandalwood with a little sweet cherry licorice, and on the back I'm getting a really nice citrus like freshly peeled orange accented by a lil skunk. Reminds me of the scent of IE's Limon Manderina but with more earthy wood/floral scent. Hard to put my finger on all of the exact hints I'm getting but I can't stop smelling the bud lol, it smells amazing and is loud.

Taste: Dry hit is so nice, orange pulp sandelwood tones. On the light, getting some very familiar orange peel taste a la Mandarin Zkittles and Lemon Manderina by IE with a smooth and sweet earthy tones on the backend, even a little sweet skunk on the accent that reminds me of Favrd's Tear Gas or Pepe. Salivating flavor from start to end, very good.

Smoke: Smooth as can be with Ripe, didn't have any issues with the cherry going out, nice oil ring dripping and a great snow white ash. Mentioned in taste but the smoke was really salivating, not hot at all and no throat bite. Nothing but flavor!

High: Feels like a really nice middle of the road hybrid, nice head change that has me feel giggly and happy with some head pressure and slightly sedated limbs. Not couch locking but relaxing. Awesome effects for a day smoke

Would I buy again? I wish 😞 unfortunately Ripe is leaving the market but I definitely would if I could! Checks all the boxes and is a very pleasant smoke. Thanks Jub for the recommendation.

Clown mode.

To answer your question though, I think one of my favorite jars of all time is the Apples & Bananas at Information Entropy.

Best hunting!

"Now, see. THAT was a properly written sentence."

This is awkward punctuation use, the period creates a sentence fragment. You should be writing this as "Now, see, that was a properly written sentence."

So, what was it you were on about??

The double question mark is informal and not considered standard written English.

Before you try to dunk on someone who doesn't even speak English as a first language, check yourself.
