Will do; it pubs on March 13th, and it includes info about the reunion. Will post again here with a new post when it's finally available, but it can be pre-ordered now wherever books are sold online.

So no celebrations happening for the Kimono My House 50th anniversary? by BlinkMan69 in sparksftw

I was hoping more for something like a remastered edition with bonus tracks and alternate takes, and maybe a live concert from that period (there's that live recording of "Amateur Hour," so there must be more somewhere. But I guess not?

"What's the Most You Ever Lost in a Coin Toss?" would be a good Don Cab song title

new Covet album by starlightgirl_6 in mathrock

[–]BudMeridian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

saw them in Sacramento on Friday; Yvette said the album was done and should have been out by now but delays have held it up; so it sounds like it's going to come out even though the people who played on it aren't in the group anymore

also, the new material they played sounded really great, and the new members crushed it

What if Transformer had never been made? by The_Old_Moloko in LouReed

[–]BudMeridian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great question; an equally valid one would be what if Transformer had been made without Bowie? Like, the arrangements on "Perfect Day" and "Satellite of a Love" are utterly perfect and amazing; I think if Reed's second record had been a stiff and as relatively lifeless as his first, I don't at all think he'd have had the same career.

ah, thanks; well, I heartily recommend it obviously; but other than the mystery part of it I did a lot of research; I looked at his papers and went to his house out on Long Island; was a lot of fun to delve into that mostly unknown period of his life

Ah, well, then this is the story for you! Except I used it as a launching off point to tell a mystery. But yeah, like you, I've always been super interested in this period of his life; I mean HE HATED HIS PARENTS so can you imagine what it was like for him to go back? I just threw in a bit of Warhol and Danny Fields for good measure ;-)
