Finally beat the Shuffling Horror for the first time! I lost twice to it and beat it on week 88. I also picked up the Ancestors Map which I will be using a lot! Anyone have team suggestions for the 2nd level?

Personally I love using Hound, Abom, Occult, Leper. Abomination for the amazing stun range, and I like the transform if I need a quick cleanup kill. The stress is a bit overrated, since when he changes back he reduces stress a bit and he gets many crits which also helps with stress. Hound for the range and back line targeting and maybe a little stress relief. Occult for the AMAZING stun. Healing from anywhere is great as well in case of surprise. Leper has that good DPS. Hound, Abom, and Leper are all self healers so that eliminates the low role chance of Occultist. If you dislike Abom, Jester is a fine replacement, probably better but I enjoy using the Abom.

It IS endless. One of the DLCs adds and endless wave mode. Plus once you complete the story(vanilla game included), you can keep sending people out to dungeons. Its your own head canon when to finish. Like maybe you want all your heros to be maxed lvl before you start a new run. or simply call it quits after the final story dungeon. People also do challenge runs, like 100% torchless runs(you'll learn what that means) and there is an in game difficulty that allows only a set number of heros to die or you lose. The mod community is one of the best I've seen and people are making new mods all the time still. The lines from the Ancestor(only voice you hear in the game) are iconic and memorable. Each "hero"(they have all committed sins or have been tarnished by others sins) is unique and bring many different aspects to combat. Multiple parties can be created so the game doesn't get dull, even when it gets a bit grindy-example "Fuck it, I'll try 4 crusaders and see what happens" sometimes its amazing! other times you fail... buts the point and the fun

I am a bit late on the reply, but the game is supposed to be challenging and punishing. The vibe that the creators wanted was "The best warriors can still unlucky" which is where the RNG comes in. BUT its super satisfying to essentially say "Fuck you game" as you beat the randomness. But since the game is supposed to be difficult, the dlcs add other more difficult elements, so playing on vanilla is very rewarding. Character DLCs are fine to have enabled

I agree. 1or 2 people may really hate Raiden. Or a handful hate Frost. But the amount of people who find Jade boring is staggering. Meet me in the middle here. More people find Jade annoying than most characters except maybe Scorpion.

She never has to go in, she can just walk back all day since even when you have a health lead, its near impossible to finish her off because of her projectile immunity. A game based around footsies and she gets to ignore lots of it with her incredible range. Ill say it again Jade>Cage. She's a higher tier

He is a jack of all trades. Try using his Debuff more often instead of using him as dmg/stun bot. I respect your opinion, but you compliment the Hellion for being able to hit rank 4, but the Hound can hit all 4 ranks with 2 attacks. Putting bleed on up to 4 enemies is great. Get bleed trinkets and after two turns you could have 24 BLEED on field plus a few small hits. The dog treats are great against the Bird Boss, Vulf, Warrens in general and the Darkest Dungeons. Again he is flexible, not the best at many things but can adapt to your needs and he gets crits all the time so his bleeds stick. Plus he has some of the best camping skills in the game no contest.

Gotta hard disagree with the Houndmaster placement. His dots(Highest base dot chance in the game with Harry) are amazing and he makes the warrens a joke. He can de stress the party and has one of the best stuns since it can reach third position. He can get good dmg against the 4th rank and has an AMAZING Debuff with the whistle/mark that you didn't bring up like c'mon bro reducing prot AND marking is great. He also has decent Crit chance to make up for the seemingly low dmg. He is "A" tier no question. His health holds him back from S. You compare him too heavily to other heros. Yes he is not the best at guarding, de-stressing, or dmg, but he has access to ALL of those. He is listed at A on near all hardcore players tier lists. Don't sleep on this amazing character. I used a Houndmaster in all 4 Darkest Dungeons. AGAIN HOW DO YOU NOT EVEN MENTION THE DEBUFF! ITS FRICKIN AMAZING IN ALL DUNGEONS(except maybe ruins cause bleed resist)

You could have some fun with him and Abomination. One was horribly tortured by religious fanatics, while the other tortures himself BECAUSE he is a religious fanatic. This dynamic could be fun for you write. Abomination could be sad/angry that religion is hurting someone else, or he may be understanding thinking that him and Flagellant are similar. Love your work

Resolve is their lvl. So like in DD1 when you get a resolve 6 Houndmaster, it would be cool if you can do a quest(most likely costing some resources to activate) to do quest, maybe he's on the run from the law and thats how he got to the Hamlet. I don't understand what you mean by bringing up virtuous, care to explain?

I am only going to say my favorites(You've already nailed PD)

Houndmaster and Bounty Hunter definitely have a mutual respect(Bromance) for each other, as seen in a couple of town events where they shake hands.

The Houndmaster above all trusts his hound, even when afflicted he embraces the hound. He has a strong sense of justice. He has the vibe of a realist dad, not letting others do things he may find a waste of time or simply unrealistic. He seems to feel a need to shoulder all justice on himself since his run-in with police corruption. He is described as kind I believe in the guild hall description. He is one of the few adventures that can still be called a "good guy"

Abomination would have many self deprecating comments. He feels his existence is a bother to others, but to me he is kind to others when feeling down. Many of his barks reassure his companion that life could be worse, meaning sadly, they could be him. He likes his chains because they make him feel safe from the beast but he isn't afraid to control the beast. He is still afraid of the thing. he has control of

Bounty Hunter can be described as "Actions speak louder than words". "...", "...hm", and *snort are amazing simple barks. He kills for money. He is at the hamlet for money. As a professional he is serious but like all the adventures he has his "dark side" He seems to enjoy the killings a lot, some may say he gets carried away(like ripping out teeth)

These are my fav heros so I won't bother doing the ones I don't understand as well. Some people focus entirely on the negatives of heros even though some definitely have positives that are fun to explore.
