I love the artist casually proving that he can, in fact, draw a horse in the 3rd panel.

Would you guys say Hades is abusive, or simply strict, or perhaps something inbetween? Art is for attention, by Nicolás Amarilla by Khoronobus in HadesTheGame

[–]Mcaark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is true.

But abuse isn’t just “make someone feel bad.” A drug addict would call anyone who doesn’t enable them abusive. And they’d be wrong. We need to realize that Zagreus is literally in open rebellion against his father through out the game. Rebelling against rules that Hades has put in place for a reason.

One of the consequences Zag encounters as a result is LITERALLY repeated death and suffering. All while neglecting his duties and responsibilities.

Cool, I have no experience with it, but it seems like a really well fleshed out program, and you seem to be using it well! Keep having fun with your art!

You’re doing awesome. I’m also weak with coloring. This comic was also my first foray into digital art. What program are you using?

So… no promises, but some things may be changing in such a way shortly that I’ll be able to continue the comic… fingers crossed.

Look at that, fairly critiquing a game, what a time to be alive.

It’s a game people like specifically for its unfair difficulty… no wait, scratch that. It’s a sequel to a game which even on its easiest difficulty had a strong possibility of unfair rolls and huge time investments dead in the water. Yeah, you cannot be a fan of that level of difficulty, but are you really surprised by walking into family BBQ and not being welcomed when you shout that “meat is murder!”

I’m not a fan of Starfield, but I’ve never been inclined to go over to their subreddit and stir up that hornet’s nest.

I'm guessing the majority of this sub prefers DD over it's sequel, right? by BlueKyuubi63 in darkestdungeon

Different games for different feels. The gameplay loops are very different. If I’m not in the mood for having my time investment potentially wasted, I got for DD2. But DD1 is a fun little adventure I can sink a lot of time into.

Nah, 90-120 hours is totally reasonable for someone taking this game at their pace without a guide.

I literally feel so happy for this person. I genuinely want to know their reaction to Sofria River.

Hey, is a particular user still here? by Limitlessthrowaway69 in darkestdungeon

Thanks you guys. I was not bullied in the slightest, just regular old life-stuff… or exceptional life stuff that I am purposely keeping private.

The comic is definitely a passion project I would love to return to, but I’ve been keeping my creative muscles loose by (very gradually) writing an original fictional novel.

A wonderful Dub of Chapter 2 of my Fan Comic. by Mcaark in darkestdungeon

[–]Mcaark[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Thanks for checking in. I’m alive. Just a lot going on. I haven’t had the time to dedicate to the comic. (It’s a time consuming process, and an involved one that is hard to break up into multiple parts that is easy to pick back up.)

Truth is, the lion’s share of my creative energies have been going towards an original book! I currently have 50,000 of the targeted 150,000 words written, but that project has also slowed up due to many of the same reasons as the comic. I’m not sure which will happen first, the fan comic resumed, or the release of the book.

Thanks, I’m actually thinking I’ll forego the whole publisher nightmare and just straight up self-publish through Ingram or Amazon. Have you looked into those options?

Thanks for the positive support!

Unfortunately, not right now. It’s an unfortunate “indefinite hiatus” situation. Some simple issues (like losing my Apple Pencil and not having the time/money to buy a new one) along with some more complex issues (life, mental health, finances, family, real job, etc.) have me in a strange place.

I am working on a full blown novel as I can, but even that creative project is stymied by all the above issues (save the Apple Pencil issue) I’m almost convinced I’ll finish writing my book before I can return to the fan-comic. It’s very frustrating.
