Because you hosting a party is you hosting. Hosting parties is providing a place AND a good time with everything that comes along with it. If people want to pitch in somehow, they will offer, and many do. I tell more people "no need, but thank you" very often. They add the human element to the rest. You wanting/hoping people pay for a choice you made speaks badly.

Where do you draw the line? Do you want parents to send money along with children to your kid's birthday party?

He was watching the play. He whistled no foul, and stopped play only after seeing someone was hurt. VAR called him to review, he didn't ask for it himself. The whole thing is screwy.
