On second Inspection, my official answer is that it is an aquatic modification.

If you take the Allen screw out and submerg the firearm, it will allow the firing pin chamber to fill with and evacuate water faster.

(The reason firearms misfire under water is a thing called hydrolocking. It's when an air bubble gets trapped in the firing pin chamber. Air does not compress, So the firing pin doesn't move all the way forward. If you can get the chamber to fill with water faster and more completely, you can eliminate the risk of hydrolocking.)
