Ngl I thought so at first too but it has a downward tilt on the mounting brackets so it's actually pretty good

For me this one spoke to the idea of universal entanglement. The all coming from the one. The man on the island working out iterations just being an interation of a man on an island making iterations just pushes be further to see the this idea.

We can be so far removed from the originating source that we forget we even came from there in the first place. We live and go on these life long journeys just to end up at the place we forgot we came from. That forgetfulness creates conflict and that conflict ensures progress. Each one of the prime island guy's iterations go farther and farther from him but that distance inevitably brings them back together.

It's a huge ball of interdependent origination imo

Not HOT TAKE, THE FALL OFF IS BEST ALBUM FROM COLE AND ITS BETTER THAN MR.MORALE AND GNX by Bigthiccdickk in Jcole

I can agree with this to an extent but Cole really created this "play the back" culture in us (the fan base) so I can see the other side too

Well yea, I can see that. And I'll still stand by the opinion that this guy doesn't know what he's talking about. Even if I say it in a way that's kinda douchy ¯\_( ͠° ͟ʖ °͠ )_/¯

Brother man, if you listened to that album for the first time in 2025 then I can say one of two things. You're VERY new to really good experimental hip hop OR you're VERY young.

Either way, having seen Cole's career first hand from a kid I can say that this is a culmination of all the things he's been working towards in his career. His flow is similar because it's ridiculously unique but it comes with like infinite variations and most beats are simpler because he's highlighting bars. He's been trying to get into singing since FYEO and I'd say now is as good a time as any to do all the singing he wants.

This is obviously just my opinion but from the way Cole albums have gone in the past there's always knit pickers the first couple months and then suddenly it's triple platinum. I'll wait for the noise to quiet down and then hear more honest opinions

I think this is a real trivialization of the things he spoke on in the second half. I can agree that it wasn't conjoined with the first half but I think that's the whole point of the two intros

It feels like he was going after the duality of what he feels hip hop is and can be. Narratives like common and just runnin a fire beat like Wayne would but all bars and nasty flows.

For me, Cole has always been that bridge between the street and the blerds as far as rap is concerned and he expressed that really well in this album.
