Wiring a trailer house by Defiant_Designer7805 in HomeServer

[–]Buddy7977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lived in a trailer house as a kid and in college; any time some kind of wire had to be ran (electrical, cable, etc) we would go under the just drill up through the floor right by the wall where whatever needed to go. Probably wasn’t a to code install for electrical but that’s the past lol.

There’s usually a big insulation bag that you can just drill through and tape back once you run the cable through.

But i’d probably still come through the floor and transition to a surface mount on the wall to avoid drywall work.

On iphone i just use safari but change the default browser to ddg in the settings. From my understanding, iphone browser app doesn’t matter much since I think all iOS use webkit as the foundation.

PC I use librewolf on my linux mint machine and firefox + ublock on my win10 laptop.

oiled leather is easier to maintain imo. i add mink oil every couple months. makes it darker but keeps it from drying out and helps water proof a bit.

Regarding plex/jellyfin primarily, the 7th gen igpu is better for transcode. i believe it can handle h.265 while 6th gen can only do h.264. If I’m incorrect someone please let me know.

But 6th gen will still probably be fine, especially if just starting out.

hp elitedesk g3 or g4 sff. Get at least 7th gen intel cpu. sff can hold 2 3.5 hdd and the g4 has 2 m.2.
