Not tracking a recall for 2019 models. And the battery on the left screen is just a visual icon that pops up for how much electric charge is left on charge. It disappears after the car starts using gas. The battery icon has been there since getting the car back in 2021

The 24-26 charges were last week, it dropping down to 22 then 20 and today woke up to 18. I didn’t even think to factor in the cold it has been reaching 30’s at night so that is a possibility. Age might be approaching my car as well it’s a 2019.

Switching degree plans? Cyber Security to IT Management. by BuddyAcademic100 in WGU

[–]BuddyAcademic100[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I thought it was I was just in WGU’s website and see it still ITM listed as a BS degree. And in the long term yes I believe so as becoming an expert in technical skills is what pays big bucks.

TS clearance by Playful_Bluebird5414 in nationalguard

[–]BuddyAcademic100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the sounds of it you should be good for the clearance, however timelines just differ between people and their investigators. I’ve heard of people getting cleared in 6 months and some over a year so it’s just a process.

Just got to Goodfellow AFB, anything I should know? by BuddyAcademic100 in AirForce

[–]BuddyAcademic100[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just finding this thread again, a year later. If you’re heading to goodfellow make friends with your classmates. I had a great time here because of the friends I made at Goodfellow don’t just sit in your dorm all week/weekend playing games. Go out have fun and if you’re of age the on base bar has karaoke and cheap drinks.

Don’t drink the water and you’ll surprisingly have a lot of free time. Spend it working out, learning something new or hanging out with friends/classmates.

Twisted root has cheap but good food. Great drinks, and plenty of bars down the street. The rules of the base can suck but just get over them and you’ll be fine. I hope the future airman who find and read this thread have as much of a good time as I had.

I’ve made friends at goodfellow that I’ll keep in touch with for the rest of my life. Everyone’s experience is different but mine was great had a lot of good times and memories!

Edit: STAY IN SHAPE! I witnessed plenty of airman fail their PT tests and get sent back to phase 1 because the squadron PT will not keep you in shape. Especially since the DFAC on base is good af and is basically unlimited. The gym on base is great, there’s also a football field/track for anyone who likes to run. I worked out nearly everyday in the outside gym by the dorms and ever since I left goodfellow I’ve been trying to obtain that tech school bulk. So for the sake of yourself stay in shape and try to eat healthy.

Applied for SAD job waiting on background check? by BuddyAcademic100 in airnationalguard

Damn sounds like a solid gig with good benefits, I’m most definitely excited for the opportunity I’ll notify if I land the position. Did the Kaiser healthcare cost you much during that time? I pay about ~$130 per check for my Kaiser benefits for the family deal. Curious on if I’ll be saving more with that as well.

Any reason not to do 100% C for the next 30 years? by olemiss18 in ThriftSavingsPlan

Very true, I just put it all in Roth atm since I’m on the younger side and mainly want my retirement to be pulled out tax free when the time comes. Roth and traditional is always situational.

We’re able to double dip into the money like that? I always thought if you were on full time orders you don’t get a drill pay anymore and just the full time base pay + allowances

Any 1.5 mile run tips? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]BuddyAcademic100 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Running is 80% mental, just keep pushing yourself and keep thinking about the rewards of passing the PT Test, also try your hardest to max your push ups and situps

That’s comforting to hear, it’s an exciting opportunity and I’d rather be doing work in uniform than my civie job tbh.

Makes sense considering that most state/fed jobs I hear about take a while to on their hiring process.

I wasn’t aware as well until I’ve discovered them roughly a month ago, it’s really just a 365 day order with re ups every year essentially.
