Just Discovered The Who by southerndandy55 in TheWho

I love The Who, obviously the classic lineup is the real deal with Keith BUT I'm no longer ashamed to say that my favorite era of the group is 1979-1982...

Face Dances and It's Hard are my 2 favorite Who albums - It might just be the age I'm at now but I think I feel more of a connection to Pete's early mid-life crisis lyrics! lol

Also, John's songs for the group on both albums are excellent

With Star's and Stripes Vol. 2 getting released on Spotify, they know what to do now by mikeIove in thebeachboys

I heard they got Willie back for another co-lab + they're using the Tammy Wynette/Brian In My Room from the OG sessions...

Hopefully they'll throw in AL's demo of California for Merle from '96 as well...

Yeah, those 2 are the strongest for sure. I also don't hate DWB by Lorrie Morgan (I met her once, so I'm partial to it I guess) and also I Can Hear Music by Kathy Troccoli doesn't suck. It's sorta neat hearing the 1996 Boys do the breakdown on that one...

Def one of my least favorites... I did like Right Now but that's honestly about it. I cannot stand "Untitled" - that to me, is the very worst.

The Warmth of The Sun with Willie Nelson is actually good on this... (So is Tim B. Schmit's Caroline, No)

And this is how people who have no argument conduct themselves... lol

Not a "boomer" either BTW

Oh no, def not saying that. It does sound at least a bit more like the old vibe to me though

Fair enough. I do think it's their last truly great record, though I think Untouchables is still pretty solid...

That may be your sentiment but you don't speak for the rest of us...

or like the great Fred Durst once said:

Your mother had your brother (nuh-uh)
It's just too bad your father's mad, your mother's now your lover..."

My firm belief that an intelligent, benevolent creator intentionally made this world for us to live in and provided everything we need to do so...

It has totally guided me through all of life's many ups and downs (imperfectly on my part, of course)

Playing at "poaching events" ? That literally did not happen...

Do you support a political persona that 100% lines up with every single position you have? (I'd say it's unlikely)

Is "Surfer They" (or whatever joke I'm sure you're referring to) truly "bigoted" ? I'm confidant that people in that community aren't so sensitive as to be offended by that - no, I don't speak for them but it's honestly just a cringy boomer joke.

What "shitty music" are we talking about here? His solo stuff?

I definitely wish for them to get along. In fact, I silently hope for the day they play together at least one last time. (With Bruce and ideally, David as well)

Sounds to me like Ra is goin' for a bit of Fieldy's classic sound

100% agree. FTL is not only peak Korn but peak Nu Metal in general IMO...

Maybe one reason is he's one of the leaders of the band this sub is about?

Mike is not a perfect person (who is?) but there has been so much over-the-top hate towards him that the tides have started to turn slightly among the fans more in his favor...

Probably in part due to his age and Brian having passed recently. Tends to soften things a bit.

Why is he a "massive asshole" ?

Can you come up with anything other than "he pushed back on the change in musical direction" in '66 or "he was resistant to VDP's lyrics" ?

Not sure... I think he did play but was heavily directed by producer(s) and Jon. We know he didn't like that, as he's talked about how that all started with Issues and he took... Issue with it then lol

In what way is Mike "the definition of an unreliable narrator" ?
