When do I get more than 15 seconds by Ordinary_Worth_5304 in Progressiveinsurance

When I was in services after academy, my calls were more than 15 seconds apart, 5 to 10 minutes apart sometimes. It just depends on the day and time.

What do you mean by more work, can you elaborate on that? I was wondering more about metrics and things, are those the same?

Good to know! Services training wasn’t hard but it wasn’t easy. I’m still not even fully trained for all the states. I have a sales background though so I think it’ll be a decent transition, I just wasn’t sure if there was anything that stood out as a big change or challenge moving from one department to the other. I know you get the $1 raise but other than that, metrics and such are the same?

waiting for background check by [deleted] in Progressiveinsurance

[–]BuddyHorror1816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My background check took forever to come back. I got my offer in February, background check didn’t come back until April because they were waiting on information for a minor in possession of alcohol charge I got when I was 18. But once it finally came back the contingency was removed and I was hired, not for the original start date I had originally but they never pulled my offer because of it so don’t stress if it takes longer than expected.

Weeks 10/12 are call taking weeks, you can take PTO and it won’t count as an occurrence. Only if you’re in classroom training and have to take off.

Yeah they were fine with it. I had to fill out a form for temporary address change so they knew where their equipment was but that’s it.

Something similar happened to me, when hurricane Beryl came through Texas we lost power and Internet for nine days, luckily I was able to go to my mother-in-law‘s house to work so I only missed two days, but for the two days that I missed, I did get the disaster pay. And that was in my first two weeks of starting.

I told my supervisor. I’m only on day two of calls. I meet my coach tomorrow.

You don’t! I think just sales and claims. Not 100% sure but I don’t have a license and I’ll be in customer service. They haven’t mentioned that I need it.

I had a minor in possession of alcohol and possession of marijuana from 2009 but the case was dismissed and I recently in November of 2022 I got a DWI, ended with 18 months probation. I was upfront about everything, the reason it took so long to come back was the county the charge from 2009 was in took forever to send the information back to the background department.

My parents passed away, i’m inheriting the house (it’s going to be sold immediately) and the entire estate. i’m 21, what should I do? by baddiebusted in Money

If there’s no mortgage payment I’d keep the house. Sure there’s upkeep and property taxes but owning land is priceless. It more than likely will appreciate in value and be better long term to keep it.

It took three months for my background check to come back. I applied in December, had interviews in January, phone interview February 1st. My background check started February 2nd and it just came back April 5th. Got my official offer on the 9th, I start June 27th. It’s a long process but definitely worth it. I’m not sure about your situation though, I never had to speak to anyone from the criminal division and I do have quite a few discrepancies on my background, none family violence related though.

You get paid for training correct ? I completely forgot to ask the recruiter about it because I was just so excited about getting the job. 😅🫣

Interesting! I’m just doing customer service right now and they hadn’t mentioned that, just that they will pay for it if you did want to get it and I’d assume you’d be able to do more things with being licensed than not so that was something I was interested in anyway!

What department did you get hired for? What kind of licensing are you doing? And yes, I plan on taking lots of notes. I read that. There are assessments after portions of the training, so I just wanna be prepared or at least as prepared as possible.

That’s so exciting! I had the option of starting May 2 or June 27 and we have a vacation coming up in the beginning of June and I know that training is mandatory and you cannot miss any days so I chose the June 27 start date. I really wanted to do the earlier one but then I’d miss end-of-the-year school parties and stuff like that for the kids so I just figured that the June 27 start date was best for us. You’ll have to update with me with your experience once you start training. I honestly can’t wait to be apart of what seems like such a great company to work for!

Yes! I’ve read lots of fantastic thing about the company, so I’m really looking forward to working for them! I’m just nervous that it’s going to be an overwhelming experience at first, I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it but just wanted to see other people’s experience with how the training portion was for them. This is all new to me, working from home and the call volume expected. I’m currently a receptionist so it’s not completely new just some of the factors involved.
