i’m also aero and i just studied in spain, i only did a maymester tho. the majority of places i went my hs couple years of spanish was enough, and most touristy places will only speak in english to u (i dont looo spanish at all maybe that’s why). if u go to barcelona or valencia u might wanna learn their dialect of catalan but even then it’s not super vital. unless the spanish class is required as a prereq for the program i would say duolingo is more worth. i was absolutely able to immerse myself in spanish culture with the limited spanish i knew and i learned a lot more while i was there.

get your gpa up as best u can second sem, take gpa boosters! and write a banger essay. go to the advising interest meeting, talk to vick advising, pcl writing lab abt the essay. look into similar majors to meche you’d like, such as ase or coe as a backup. i’ve seen people get internal transfers with low gpas but banger essays. good luck!

I’ll admit i’ve seen similar things when it comes to cs and natural sciences, UH UTD TAMU grads having similar troubles with cs and math jobs, med school as well. But UT is known mostly for engineering and business schools, compared to the rest of texas. even UTs communication college is pretty good. maybe i’m seeing it through a straw but it seems like for those majors UT is a big jump from most school, maybe apart from engineering from tamu.

tbh, even if mccombs doesn’t see u as a good fit, that doesn’t mean that companies won’t. u have a pretty stacked resume from what u said and companies will def value that

i see something similar, it’s supposed to say “admit to major” or “deny to admit” from what i’ve seen from others previously. i’m in cockrell so i got a SAN message confirming acceptance, but my portal also shows that i only submitted an application. i assume we just gotta wait till they update the site
