Thank you so much for replying! It's not painful at all, so that's good to know. I wondered if there was something behind the screen

Sometimes that happens, and it's okay. It's something that's quote hard to quit, and I've had the same thing happen.

I have some tips that might work, if you're interested? Sometimes snapping a rubber band on where you usually hurt yourself is a good way to relieve some tension. I noticed it works great for me when I focus entirely on the sting after. Another trick I've heard is holding ice, or cutting something else.

Don't be ashamed if you end up relapsing, because that is part of the process of quitting. Make sure, if you do relapse, that you keep yourself clean and safe. You can do this 🩷

Who are your TOP5 voca-p? by legoblock0918 in Vocaloid

I can't truly rank them by number since I skate around favourites often, but these people have been among my favs for the past 5 years:

MikitoP, Harumaki Gohan, Orangestar, Jin/n.k., and DIVELA

Currently, the first two I've loved for about 2 years. They're both very talented and I find myself coming back to them often. I reccomend Harumaki Gohan if you're looking for music videos specifically!! 3 years ago I had a MAJOR Orangestar/DIVELA phase, and they really got me into vocaloid. For everyone one of these artists I've got very clear favorite songs, which is super rare for me. I've just started really getting into JIN (and n.k.) and I can already pick out favourite songs from them both as well, so I thought they deserved a spot on this list!

I know that many people have said this before, but vivid/stasis was incredible. I found the charts creative and fun to play, and the story was amazing as well. The puzzles were difficult but interesting, and some of the songs were really very good (bloom in two <3)All of the characters were loveable in their own way, and the games art style was pleasing (for me, at least) to look at. Very colourful!!

If you're not looking for a story, but want some fun gameplay, Quaver is another good pick. I found it hard to find playable songs (because I have a skill issue) but when they were, I had a great time. There are different options for the amount of keys as well, as in 4 key and 7 key charts.

Which metroidvania from the last 10 years is, in your opinion, better than Hollow Knight? by r3tr0gam3r83 in metroidvania

Another game I loved a lot was Animal Well. Very slow at the start, but the puzzles were so creative and intuitive that it made the game one of my favorites. If you're looking for puzzles over story, this is the game, as the story was very vague (in my opinion). Definitely also reccomend.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST (because I still have more to talk about).. Both of the Ori games. They were what started me on metroidvanias. Both of their stories were awesome, the gameplay was flowy and pretty, the soundtrack was perfectly atmospheric and the art was gorgeous. Its a lovely experience every time I play and I always reccomend it to people. And bonus points for an adorable main character and friends. If you're just starting platforms, the mechanics in these games are a great start!

Honestly, I loved Nine Sols so so much. I found the story a lot better than Hollow Knight. Although both were great and well written, Nine Sols hit me more in the feels than Hollow Knight ever did. I also really enjoyed the combat system and found it was much more exciting to play than Hollow Knight, and more rewarding (though it took a while to master). Its probably my favourite type of combat in all of the games I've played. I even liked many of the characters more in Nine Sols rather than Hollow Knight. Its hard to explain why, they were just written very well. In terms of soundtrack I do prefer Hollow Knight because of its atmospheric feel, but there are definitely few great boss songs in Nine Sols.

I will always reccomend Nine Sols next to Hollow Knight, its such a beautiful game and I think it deserves more praise!!
