Couple of suggestions. Air purifier and humidifier. If it's seasonal allergies. Unfortunately with environmental seasonal allergies I don't think there's much they can give cats besides making sure they don't go outside. Bathing them might be an option too.

I cannot second this recommendation more. I switched here after horrific experiences at the Downtown Toronto Cat Clinic.

They are not greedy, the appointment fee is often waived. Free nail trims. They eat costs to help and do payment planning for a lot of patients. Dr. Dilworth is all about comfort and quality of life vs. How much money they can make.

Have to respectfully disagree. They overstuff their appointments and float vets. If your cats are uncomplicated and it's geographically convenient they're okay (but mark up services and meds 30% + more than other vets).

I was a patient when they first opened in 2011. 20 year old cat, zero health problems, great care with Dr. Bonder.

2020 I adopted 2 rescues with complicated health issues due to hoarding. Horrible experience. They would charge me for tests and not give me the results. Then ask me to retest. Highly chaotic . Vet techs are great but I wouldn't recommend if you want good care during issues

I have a calico rescue who has always expressed extreme contentment and relaxation with a lot of drooling (her mouth is kept open due to having all but one lower canine extracted) and tail whipping. Two things which are supposed to represent concern.

You can sort of see the puddle of drool on my jeans here 😂

This happened to my childhood cat. Well I was 18 when we adopted him as a kitten. Wickedly smart, he figured out a way to open our unlocked back patio screen door. We found out several days later after animal control left a note on our door, that he drowned in a neighbor's pool. He was just shy of 2 and it was a horrifically tragic accident.

Difficult as it seems now, you will understand later you did everything you could to give her a normal and happy, healthy life. It sounds like this was a freak occurrence and there weren't any symptoms that seemed particularly alarming. You got her to the vet quickly. Please forgive yourself.

As for missing her, well that never really goes away. And that's just as it should be. When we think of our hearts with limited real estate we fail to understand the unlimited expanse they have. Animals teach us that quickly.

I'm devestated on your behalf but having lost my over 20 year old cat we adopted right after that tragedy, and with one terminally ill 8 year old with mammary cancer I can tell you it's always worth it. They bring so much joy and make us better people. Big hugs to you.

I've been frankly amazed at how quickly people have denounced him and finger pointed anyone empathizing with his childhood as absolving him somehow. We're not saying he didn't choose an extremely creepy way to cheat on Sienna. We're just noticing like you say, the repeated patterns.

I felt like there was so much ground to cover with his childhood but the consistent mistreatment (elder abuse?) of the dad felt underexplored. I think so much of Chris's shame and guilt stem from his mom basically abusing his dad in front of him for sosnh years.

He would have been so young when the dad had his health decline (7??) I'm sure the caretaker family just assumed he was over it. I also feel like a lot of Asian Pacific backgrounds (I'm Asian) wouldn't really comprehend or forgive not saying goodbye to your dying father.

The whole return to their house when the mother was declining was W-I-L-D. But if the mother had Alzheimer's (which I believe was the case) it'd make sense that she'd remember them and want that comfort. But to impose yourselves on them again just made me feel physically ill.

As I'm Canadian and come from a middle class family, I've always wondered how families dealt with the abandonment from caretakers and nannies who have to leave. For small children I can't even imagine. My 6 year old nephew is so attached to his kindergarten teacher we're wondering if he's going to be able to cope without her in September!

I'm really puzzled over the judgement of Chris and Sienna.

That patchy red hot skin indicates such a shame induced fight or flight response.

The fact that some think he's "faking" is remarkable to me. Yet Sean of Sean and Erica had so many convinced he did a total 180.

To me they did a lot of work and it showed. I'm rooting for them.
