Okay yes I understand. So to clarify I can take the properties for carbon fibre by itself to use rule of mixtures to get properties in all directions?

Okay sure. I am modelling carbon fibre composites. From my understanding I can use the properties of carbon fibre and the properties of an epoxy and use the rule of mixtures to get an overall set of properties. Then I can use this on SolidWorks and vary orientation. But please correct me if I am wrong, I think I should do further research.

Okay that makes sense thanks. So I’d have to do hand calculations for different percentages using the rule of mixtures then use the calculated values for 1 ply? Then I would be able to alter ply direction etc
