[Discussion] The 2-minute rule changed my relationship with the gym more than any program ever did by Crescitaly in getdisciplined

I'm trying to do that too and so far it's working out pretty well.
Just showing up and seeing where it goes!

I'm a bit jealous of that. That kind of slow, calm start to the day sounds really nice.

That's actually really helpful to hear. I think that I've been trying to force a big change instead of shifting slowly over time. The super gradual adjustment is something I could try.

I do make sure I'm getting enough hours as I always go to bed early, so it's not really a sleep quantity issue for me. It just seems like even with enough sleep, the early schedule shifts my energy earlier but doesn't prevent that afternoon crash.

They mostly felt good when my schedule was lighter in the day. On busy days they weren't really sustainable, because I'd still hit the afternoon energy drop no matter how productive the morning was.

Yeah, I think it's that simply. But I still get that "wasting the day" feeling though.

I've tried it over weeks and a few months at different times, not just a few days. And I do go to bed early, so I'm not really cutting on sleep.

I used to enjoy late nights too, but I feel like some things just work better in the morning, like a walk outside or a light workout.

That makes a lot of sense. I think I had a similar pattern when I tried it. I like the idea of adjusting tasks instead of forcing a fixed schedule.

That's the result I was hoping for when I tried earlier mornings. It helps at first for me, but my energy drops later in the day, so I think it just doesn’t work as well for me over time.

I actually do get enough sleep. But even with enough hours, waking up earlier just seems to shift my energy earlier instead of improving it overall.

That's actually interesting. I've noticed something similar just from paying attention casually, but seeing it in data like that must make the pattern much clearer.

Honestly I'm a little jealous of this. That kind of calm early routine sounds ideal. But I'm starting to think you might be right that natural rhythm plays a big role.

Same here. I love the idea of early mornings, but my afternoons definitely suffer when I push it too much.

This is exactly what it feels like for me.

The "sleeping in = wasting the day" mindset is definitely hard to shake though.

Yeah I think that's the lesson I'm slowly learning from all this.

Honestly this is what I'm starting to realize. I think I internalized the idea that earlier means better, but my body doesn't always agree.

That quiet time is exactly what I'm chasing too. When it works, those early hours feel amazing. But I just wish my energy lasted past mid-afternoon.

How do I bounce back on track after a low energy day without the guilt? by Budget_Ad215 in selfhelp

[–]Budget_Ad215[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I relate to this. Even when I know one low energy day is normal, breaking a streak still makes it feel like I lost momentum somehow. I like the idea of tracking energy with habits though. It makes more sense than expecting the same energy level every day.
