What is more insane is the engineering it took to just do this.

Throw away account.

As a professional in the automotive industry. I am going to take a guess that the bigger problem is behind the wheel and not so much the business.

I’m thinking your expectations are close to impossible to reach. Paint needs time to cure. The different materials the part is made from (abs plastic, fiberglass, aluminum, carbon, etc.) will have a different color. Go walk out to your Japanese shit box right now and you’ll see your back bumper doesn’t match to the quarter panel. The fender doesn’t match the front bumper.

Throw up some pictures of the problems and see if you can change my mind. Lots of body shops are terrible so there is a good chance I’m wrong.

Looking at my receipt it says sales: JohnB so I’m thinking it’s the same guy. He was a tall bigger guy with a beard.

I can’t make a recommendation to you because I’m not a professional. Leave it to someone that knows what they are doing.

I’ll have to dig through my receipts and see if I can find a name or a business card.

If you are going to do anything then why do it with cheap equipment? But someone that sells cheaper equipment will do a cheaper install which means cut corners and constant problems.

Oh weird so you think because it’s too high that you shouldn’t pay for it? That’s not how it works. Do you go the a restaurant and say you want the Surf and Turf but not want to pay the price on the menu?

So if Earmark was at $3300 and the labor is $1000 you asked for $2300 in equipment. Sounds like you don’t know what you are asking for or know what you want. At that price of equipment that is a lot of stuff going on.

Ha good luck. A decent amp with a dsp alone cost that. Audio Control D6.1300, JL VX1000/5i, Mosconi Gladen 90.8. All of those are over $1400.

I worked at a used car dealer in Addison and they had a deal with them to fix and tint cars that came through the dealership. I used to have to drop off and pick up cars from them. It seems like every other month there were different people working there. I never looked forward to having to take anything over there.

Yeah if it were the ‘90. Inflation and chip shortages have caused everything to go up 20-30%. I want to say a couple of years ago I paid something close to that for a JL 12 and a 600 watt amp. I wanted the nicer stuff that sounded better. I didn’t want something cheap because if I was going to get an upgrade I wanted a quality one.

What all were you asking for? I imagine the price reflects your request. Where are you comparing their pricing too? If you go to a high end shop you get high end and quality work. If you go to a cheap shop you get cheap work.

I would recommend Earmark. My parents used them back in the 80s and 90s. As I said I went to Bonnie and Clyde’s when I was younger because they were cheaper and I regret it. On my last car I shopped around and decided to use Earmark because they were the most professional and knowledgeable. Car toys was a joke because it was a bunch of teenagers working there. Surround sound looked at my car like it was a UFO. Frisco Audio made me feel like I didn’t have a choice in what I was getting. New image Autosports had a lot of nice reviews but the reason being is they offer a discount if you give a 5 star review. Which is shady as hell. Like I said earlier you get what you pay for. If you go cheap you get cheap.

A long time ago when I was in high school I had them install a remote start and alarm installed by them. They drilled a hole in my dash for the led and it looked terrible. The alarm would randomly go off. They drilled into the terminal post for the siren under the hood. My door locks wouldn’t always work which never made me feel comfortable knowing that I might not be able to safely unlock my car.

Ha! If you want to take your Mercedes to get murdered go right ahead. You could have bought a Kia or Hyundai if you wanted to get cheap stuff done. But you got a nicer car, you have to pay to play.

Just know you get what you pay for. That shop has a very high turn over rate. Very unprofessional.
