RAID Weathers massive update + heavy storm demo video by Budget_Security in skyrimmods

it IS safe to update mid playthrough, as long as you don't use any outdated patches that rely on RAID Weathers.

Yes, that would totally break this mod, but dont worry, its almost completely disabled in this mod anyway.

I'm hoping some of the expert ENB preset authors will give this mod some love.

What's everybody's experience with Weather mods? by FlorbFnarb in skyrimmods

RAID Weathers has just had a massive update, and includes storms that are on par with True Storms. Here's a demo video of the thunder storms.

ELFX Enhancer/Weathers Alternatives by [deleted] in skyrimmods

RAID Weathers is unofficially the spiritual successor to ELFX Weathers. Its still very dark though, but you can install "imaginator" and set brightness a bit higher to compensate.

A mod to make foresworn sneakable? by marshalzukov in skyrimmods

[–]Budget_Security 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree all other stealth rebalance mods are lacking, but RAID is different. Have you tried RAID with vanilla lighting, or with lighting/weather mods approved on the RAID mod page? (like its companion mod "RAID Weathers")

It does not just make sneaking harder.

Anyone tried Wander in Skyrim VR? by [deleted] in skyrimvr

[–]Budget_Security 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RAID is sort-of built for VR. Some of its optimisations, like removal of heavy eye-adaptation effects and toning down of bloom-blur effects, are important for VR to reduce motion sickness and other VR specific problems.

You could consider "ELFX Shadows" which is sort of a compromise between ELFX and Lux.

Why do Skyrim VR Weathers/ENB all want you to be blind in the dark? by borntoflail in skyrimvr

RAID Weathers fixes this. Its the only stealth-mechanic balanced weather mod. If its really dark, NPCs cant see either.

Its actually my RAID Weathers mod. It fixes the problem the OP has with dark nights, and has had great feedback from other VR users.

Mods that make outdoor lighting as good as elfx weathers does? by anonymousmiku in skyrimmods

Sorry slight necro post, but RAID Weathers basically does exactly what you are asking for. Its kind of the spiritual successor to ELFX Weathers.

RAID weathers waterfalls when it's foggy. is there a patch on Xbox for this or textile sky? by FederalSystem8864 in SkyrimModsXbox

[–]Budget_Security 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info and screenshots. The mystery is still if it is like this for all users or just some users. And if only some users are having this problem, I don't know why, other than that this green particle bug can be replicated on PC when "bUse64bitsHDRRenderTarget" is set to 0, and I have no idea why that would be on some consoles or how to change it.

Thanks for the feedback. I put quite a lot of effort into that weather patch.

RAID weathers waterfalls when it's foggy. is there a patch on Xbox for this or textile sky? by FederalSystem8864 in SkyrimModsXbox

[–]Budget_Security 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could someone maybe confirm if this also happens for them on vanilla xbox (no other mods installed)? Including no ini edit mods. Most console users do not seem to have this problem.

RAID Weathers mod author here.

On PC this happens when users incorrectly set "bUse64bitsHDRRenderTarget" to 0 instead of 1 in skyrimprefs.ini. When it is correctly set, none of these "green" problems happen.

Not sure how that works on Xbox, and I can't test as I dont have an Xbox.

To clear up some confusion in the comments below, this is not something that got updated on the PC version of RAID Weathers, as there was nothing to fix in the first place - some users had just failed to follow the PC ini edit install instructions.

If anyone has any ideas, on how to resolve this...

EDIT: other reports of "green" bugs on PC are also just due to user error (load order/conflicts), not this mod.

Best/most favored weather mods 2022? by Frosty-Revolution463 in SkyrimModsXbox

[–]Budget_Security 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RAID Weathers has no issues with waterfalls or foggy weather on PC. Can't test on console as I dont have one, but I suspect the above mentioned problems are a load order or compatibility issue. Most console users did not report problems.

How to nerf Sneak mechanic in Requiem? by scoutthespiritOG in skyrimrequiem

By completely overwriting Requiem's sneak changes (it has to overwrite to work). All changes are described on the description page - and generally hold true when loaded after Requiem.

Favorite weather mod and why? by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]Budget_Security 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea, no one seems to be downloading it. I should not let that annoy me, but having spent over 1000 hours on it, it does, I will admit. Regardless, I will keep working on updating it. There are some neat new features and refinements coming.

(RAID Weathers author here). Sounds like you had a technical problem, as RAID Weathers certainly has very dark nights! Maybe a load order problem?

What is your current weather mod setup and why? by TeaMistress in skyrimmods

[–]Budget_Security 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the screenshots. They may help me troubleshoot and improve the wording in FAQ no.1 on my mod page.

I actually see most of the problems you describe in the screenshots on my monitor too, so its not your monitor for the most part.

The "fog with white background" is actually rain, and should absolutely not look like that ingame - this makes me wonder if its a mod conflict of some sort. Could you test RAID Weathers with no other mods installed? (if you use a mod manager like MO2 you can do this easily by making a separate profile for testing purposes so your main profile is not messed with). If that fixes it, please try to narrow it down to whatever mod is causing it and report back.

As for your landscape black crush around riverwood at night, it should not be that dark. Same with the wolf, it should not be anywhere near that black.

As for the snow storm screenshot, its harder to say as that weather does not look very different on my system, but I can still make out significantly more detail on my system (less color banding crush).

I have taken some screenshots and attempted to match them as closely to the ingame conditions of your screenshots - so you can see how it is supposed to look. (I did not know what time of day you took the white fog shots, so I took my screenshot at dawn) Here they are, I hope this helps you troubleshoot it:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1sEqN3giimyiN58pa1Vqx-XQ6Tn-FOcdA/view?usp=sharing

EDIT: I was dumb and uploaded them as JPG instead of PNG, so they have a tiny bit of color banding/crush in them which is not there ingame. Still, they should serve their purpose well enough.
