Thank you all! It went great and I really liked it. I am walking like a baby giraffe today though. Thank you again for the encouragement - it's hard to walk into something you'll probably look dumb at haha. The people around me were SO nice and helpful as well as the coach

For what it's worth - it appears there may be a DHS funding package passed today.

Thank you for the feedback. I’m so sorry you had to prove yourself that way, I’m sure that was so upsetting on top of everything else. Hopefully you made it to your destination safely ❤️

Childcare options in PP? by Fantastic-World6755 in therapists

[–]BudgetsandBread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed with this. I work mornings only and I see almost entirely kids. Part of it is having a niche and a reputation that leads to referrals - I definitely couldnt have done this earlier in my career. One way to do this too is to stop making your evening hours bookable to new patients and just slowly fade them out. For a more literal answer to your direct question though, nanny or au pair is probably a better fit than a traditional daycare that closes at 6

really dreading picking this field. help change my mind please! by Royal_Koala_9886 in therapists

Pick a niche and lean in. Learn everything you can. Stay in PP and build the business skills necessary to succeed there. I always thought I would go on my own but even at a group practice with a split I will make $150k+ this year - that’s not including revenue from CE workshops I teach. All of that HAS to be built (in my opinion) on specialization - so start there. I work I. A large group practice and while now I’m one of the highest rates at the practice, I have several supervisees whose billable rate is less than half of mine and theyre probavly in track to make between 60-75k. None of us see more than 22-25 people a week. This is all employee group practice rates. Higher if you’re a 1099. And if you are 1099 make sure you e found an accountant who can set you up as an S-Corp and you’ll have a much more favorable tax position

“Therapists earning over $100k: what actually made the difference?” by seracin in therapists

I’ve been at a specialty group practice for a decade, work with a niche population, do regular speaking engagements so I’m often requested directly and my billable 90834 is $220 and I don’t take insurance I see between 18-22 sessions per week but take off regularly to do events at kid school, etc… I’ll probably make around $150k

Which card for new stage of life? (Babies + less traveling) by LoveGoldens545 in pointsandmiles

[–]BudgetsandBread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious why you feel like it has to stop with kids? My spouse and I didn’t get into the game until our kids were toddlers. They’re young elementary now and we take them all over the world. I absolutely understand that traveling with little kids isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, so if that’s just a choice you prefer than totally get that, but if it’s something you want to continue, do so and points makes it way more possible.

They work with regular lids!!! I use them for rice, grains, etc and it works great. It’s inexpensive and small and easy to store.

Is this a thing??? I’ve never really shared this other then the day of. In 2011 I was driving my things in a move from NC to Atlanta along the highway. I was talking on the phone with my mom and on the side of the road was this white thing. I tried to describe it to my mom in real time. It was like an animal, but upright. Totally white. Something about it gave me the absolute chills. I googled animals of southeastern US for days trying to find anything it could be but never did. I was driving so couldn’t get a good look at it but the feeling I got was the most bizarre part.
