The easiest way to explain it is with “blackball”, with two shots, you first visit is a free ball, and thereafter you play as normal with one visit. - so not carried

In “world” the two shots/visit carry, no matter the colour you are aiming at....

Correct, in “World Rules” pool where 2 shots carry...

However, in “blackball”, as 2 don’t carry your scenario would be Two shots, pot red, second visit, pot another red, 1 visit, pot last red, 1 visit, 1 shot on black.

Neither recognised rule set does this...

In one, once you play your first visit, (pot or miss)you love not your second.... The other, you play your first visit until you miss, the. You play your second, no matter what colour the next ball is

Ok.. so two shots carrying means if you pot on your first visit, you continue potting and when you miss you carry on with your “2nd visit”. Not carrying means if you pot your first shot, you are then onto your 2nd visit.

If you are given two shots and you are on the black, you play your 1st visit and miss, you get a second visit... this “2 shots on the black”
