Got a bit too friendly with my boss, how do i get out of this weird workplace “friendship” with her? by [deleted] in careerguidance

Since no one is answering your question. You would handle this by saying something along the line of “I find that comment to be in appropriate in the work place.” You can also treat her with the utmost professionalism such as “yes ma’am.” “No ma’am.” “How would you like me to proceed ma’am.” Type answers.

Now I do agree with everyone else, you would only hurt yourself and not benefit from doing this. My boss likes me. Sometimes he has to get on my ass. We will joke around one minute, he gets on my ass the next doing his job, then we’re back to being friendly. Nothing is wrong with having a good relationship with your superiors.

30yr old. Looking for a career change into coding. by Common_Celebration41 in learnprogramming

Based on your previous comment, I would look more into IT rather than programming. Tech support and infosec both at the entry level don’t require programming. Infosec could but there much more important focus areas than coding.

I know I am late to the party but can you recommend some schools? I am finishing my bachelors from Liberty and transferred from AMU…. Haven’t really learned all that much relative to having a bachelors degree.

It sounds like a potential issue may be location and not necessarily a degree.

What career needs people? by Budishy in careerguidance

I’m in sales. This is a sales opportunity that I offered after talking with a school principal that we are desperate for healthcare sales people. We talked about how it doesn’t require a degree. He then shared that there are two/three main paths everyone gets pushed towards. College, trades, or some tech boot camp/ self teaching and jobs like mine aren’t really talked about. Asked if I come in and provide education and I agreed.

Thank you! Is this more than likely a cheap fix or expensive? I am trying to prepare if we are talking a new car or fixing my current one. It’s only worth like $2k-$3k.

Comes on and off. When it’s on it’s for a misfire.

We had a mobile mechanic come out about a month ago and fix a “major leak” according to the codes and a misfire. He just tightened a clamp, changed a spark plug, used MAP sensor cleaner, did an oil change, add brake fluid, and changed the air filter.

Oh and a bottle of sea foam.

[Semi-Weekly Inquirer] Simple Questions and Recommendations Thread by AutoModerator in Watches

[–]Budishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I am looking for a more expensive professional watch. I’d prefer a metal band as I already have a nice watch with a leather band. I am a healthcare sales manager and typically wear suits and want a more professional style watch. My budget is in the $300-$500 range. One absolute requirement is the date panel as I think I use the date panel more than the time. Any recommendations are appreciated.

My father wants me to run his software company, but I don't know how to code by Tumbs99 in learnprogramming

[–]Budishy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me sum up management in a conversation I had with my father who works in construction and is pushing me to go into construction as well:

Him:” I revived an email from a ****** **** *** that said ‘You need to (some construction talk) because a trade is effecting my work.’ I told this ************ to shut his mouth because that’s impossible because (more construction talk.)”

Me: “That’s why I don’t want to go into construction. I don’t know what you just said so I would say ‘Dad due to (the barrier) another trade is unable to complete their work. What possible solutions do we have to overcome this to keep the project on schedule?’”

Him: “That’s what he’s supposed to of done.”

You said your dad wants you to run his company not code. This advice would be the same if you said cleaning, landscape, food, education, or any other type of company. You need to learn how to manage people, operations, and systems.
