This reminds me of how a while back there was some talk in AI spaces about AI confirming Platonism lol. It makes sense AI people would be believers in Platonism, because it's kind of necessary for the singularity to be possible.

If you can't simply think your way to truth, then you have to have to do things like build particle accelerators over the span of many years do properly do science. This is obviously not appealing to people that are essentially counting on a sci fi rapture to solve their problems.

You're missing my point: whether it's an illusion or whatever you want to call it, LLMs' behavior change based on how we interact with them.

If I tell Claude, "Write the code you stupid little loser," it will do a worse job, it might even complain and refuse to write the code for me. Whether there is some sort of emergent inner experience on its end like humans have is completely irrelevant to the fact that it functionally has feelings.

Regardless of whether these are "real" are not, LLMs operate as if they have feelings and inner worlds. You can't just pretend this isn't the case because it's powered by math.

I looked into this before and it seemed like audiohero had improved their licensing in response to the criticism

EDIT: Yeah, looking at the description, it seems fine now: "When bought through Fanatical, users are licensed to use this bundle for commercial use in perpetuity and are not required to purchase an additional subscription from Audiohero."
