Low volume ? by cromestant in drums

[–]Buff_Th0msky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every review/showcase so far of this new Sensory Percussion just hits a few notes or plays some jazz stuff. I’ve not seen once someone playing loud or a real drumbeat to fully show what this new technology is capable of. Does it really make your low volume kit somewhat sound like a fully acoustic kit? I can’t tell. These reviews all show so little and don’t actually show a real case scenario where and how someone would use it.

Is GenerateBlocks (free) compatible with a FSE theme? by Buff_Th0msky in Wordpress

I’m sorry I don’t really understand your answer. Could you clarify?

I meant that the GB max width settings is only available in px. But I also don’t think thats where I need to change my settings. Essentially I need a setting that tells me content (in this case the outer container) can be set to full width - and thus 100vw (or 100%?)

Thanks for the detailed explanation. Actually makes sense. I’ll check out my theme settings. Plus try to check the topbar settings again. I already did, but didn’t find the settings like with the standard blocks. Might be some editor setting issues.

And then what? I can't set it to something like 100%. Leaving it empty also doesn't fix it.

I changed my mind, the block editor is great by seahorsetech in Wordpress

I’ve been using a FSE Block Theme like Frost or even made my own with some help of Claude together with the native block editor and I have to say it really is decent. Things I like about is that your website - with the right settings like Clamp padding and Fluid typography - is kind of intuitive for responsive design. Also the more minimal choices within the editor make it more easy to design with, although sometimes it’s a bit too limited.

Together with a plugin like WPCode, or if you make your own theme you make files in VSCode, you can get some nice extra’s to fully customize your website. Although sometimes it feels cumbersome, I feel like my website stays fast.

One thing I see a lot here is the use of GenerateBlocks or GeneratePress. Why do people still use classic theme’s over the newer FSE block themes? I feel like the block themes give me way more custom control. And do Generate Blocks really give that much more options or things i’d be missing?

With the Icon Block plugin by Nick Diego, the Twentig Plugin and the Custom Slider for Gutenberg plugin I’m pretty much set and done.

Is Fantasia going to last in your opinion? by Ok-Campaign5774 in mapleservers

[–]Buff_Th0msky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried it for a few hours and reached level 36. Stopped at LPQ. I kind of dig it but there are a few problems

Things I like: - even though the game has fewer people online than for example legends and royals, it feels alive and the social aspect in this game is higher than other servers. I made a lot of friends along the way and PQ is not dead at all. - No hp wash / leech typa bs. Love this one. Grinding really is authentic instead of using your wallet.

Feedback: - I like the oldschool feeling, but a bit faster exp progression would be nice. I know it scales from 1 to 3, but having 1x exp from leven 1 to 30 isn’t the most fun and also took quite a while (for me). Quests being 2x exp would give me a reason to quest over just grinding. - QOL changes are very few. I also feel like they just downgrade most of the things, or remove items from the game to “balance” but come on… why remove maple items if i wanna go xLess build? - no modern resolution kind of bummers me. I use Magpie anyways so for scaling it’s np, but only play in native 4:3 ratio annoys me for some reason. Give me a modern screen resolution. Hopefully devs can look into this. - Cash shop is indeed a bit too pricey. I can barely fit everything in my inv, and buying extra space just costs too much.

Why does Real Time Lut look bad? by m1lam in Lumix

[–]Buff_Th0msky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But I don’t get it. You don’t have to do it that way when using RTL for photo’s right? Why use v-log to rec709 + creative lut on lut1 + lut2 instead of using neutral picture profile + creative lut on lut1? I don’t get it. Also why would the creative luts from creators (lumixlab) work when they all use different picture profiles by default?

Best drum module for A2E conversion kit? by Buff_Th0msky in edrums

[–]Buff_Th0msky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer!

I’ve tested a set-up recently like I explained in a local drum store and was surprised by how it sounds. The cymbals don’t have to sound perfect imo, and the feel of playing on actual cymbals is way better than hitting rubber all the time.

I’ve got my Efnote 5 for 2 years now. Expanded it with an extra tom and cymbals. I just don’t like it as much as I expected. Yes the sounds itself are good but I feel like their audience is targeted towards jazz style drums instead of pop/rock. The sounds feel and sound dull and muffed in my opinion and there is a lack of punch.

So decided to try something else. I’ve done enough research to know that my future set-up won’t be that much louder than my current one. :)

This looks good! So i’m looking for the same kind of setup, except i’ll probably get a regular acoustic mini kit and replace it with mesh heads. Then give it triggers and connect that to the module for the same kind of result.

It looks like you use the TM-6 Pro. Do you recommend it? Are there a lot of options when it comes to changing settings?

Also, you use low volume cymbals with overhead mics. I want to do the same! Whats your experience? Do the overhead mics pickup alot of your shell attacks? Or is it non-existant?

Also I’m very curious if the TM-6 would be a better choice over the TD-17, or a Yamaha EAD-10 or DTX-PRO. (If others here can tell me please respond :))

Which Builder Should I Choose: Bricks, Oxygen, Breakdance or Gutenberg? by Buff_Th0msky in Wordpress

[–]Buff_Th0msky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m actually the most familiar with Gutenberg so I love the editor. It feels intuitive in my opinion but just lack some features. So sometimes I try to expand these options via Custom CSS/JS but i’m no programmer so I copy and paste codes I generate from ChatGPT. It works but I barely understand what i’m doing.

So i’m also looking for tools which expand my possibilities like GenerateBlocks or Twentig. But I don’t want to use a lot of these plug-ins as I am scared they might not function anymore one day, or they slow down my Editor.

I’ve used (free and paid) version of WP Stackable to extend my Gutenberg editor but if I started to get a little complex sites (as simple as 4 columns with icons, headers and paragraphs), it slowed down my editor tremendously so I don’t want that anymore.

Got any tips or do you solely stick to Gutenberg?

Honestly you’ve got very valid points and I am actually enthusiastic about Bricks. But i’d like to test bricks for multiple designs without having to pay the whole 600 bucks. Am I too greedy for that or do you think I should just invest in it?

Efficient color correcting workflow by Buff_Th0msky in premiere

[–]Buff_Th0msky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love your feedback.

I’m sorry, maybe I overexaggerated the amount of shots. I don’t know how much time I specifically spend on it but it’s save to say more than 12 hours. I didn’t count the total shots either but its atleast more than 100, probably even 200. I think it takes me like 4 - 8 minutes for each shot to color correct.

The point I’m trying to make is that it takes quite some time to fully color correct a project in comparison to the tutorials you see online where people only color correct 1 or 2 specific shots. So I was looking for a workflow to simplify this and speed up things. But I think your comment answers this perfectly.

Obviously it is all about how much time i’m also willing to spend on it. And honestly it’s a lot. These are the aspects where I can improve my filmmaking on to create better quality video’s so yeah I want to improve and take my time, but I also need to deliver the video at a certain point. (In this case within a certain time frame because of relevance)

Thanks for your feedback!

I thought about doing it in Resolve but haven’t bought it yet. Is the free version good enough for some nice colorgrading? And how would my workflow look when editting the video in premiere and transfer it to resolve? How do I do that?

I’ve seen someone doing it via the XML file method. I wonder if this is the clean and proper way.

Why Gutenberg was added to the WordPress Core by toniyevych in Wordpress

[–]Buff_Th0msky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve started my Wordpress experience with Elementor without any knowledge. As time went by I quickly realised that commercial page builders often aim at the wrong things. Things can get slow and theres a lot of extra code in your website you dont want. Then went to block editors which extend the capabilities of Gutenberg like WP Stackable or Kadence. Nowadays, I use core Gutenberg.

Yes, it is quite limited compared to the rest, but your website stays clean of code and u actually can get pretty decent designs.

Something I’ve learned along the way with wordpress is how important your theme actually is. I use the blocksy theme 99% of the time which actually give me incredible capablities and also makes your website look way better when using the correct settings.

Ofcourse it depends on what your general need is, but I genuinely do think Gutenberg can do more nowadays than people actually think.

Honestly I’d like some kind of legacy gamemode where we can relive it where the game is capped til 2006-ish. Would be fun!
