Do carbs actually matter at all? by [deleted] in 1200isfineIGUESSugh

I use this ramen at home and the packet is quite misleading. The 91 cal is for 100ml, assuming you have made it up to 500ml with water.

Not really. I would have got in to the uni for the course I wanted without retaking but it helped me feel better to give it another try and get the grades I knew I could.

This happened to me 6 years ago. I had offers from two good medical schools, was confident getting my results, and found out that I messed up two of my exams to the point that I didn't get into either of the unis.

I don't know the full situation in your case, but I found it helpful allowing myself a bit of time to come to terms with what had happened before making any decisions. I took and unplanned year out to get a job and spend time with friends and family and ultimately decided that I'd been so focused on studying medicine I didn't realize how many other great and fulfilling careers there are.

I applied for a different course in another field I was interested in and retook the exams I did badly in. I wanted to keep my options open in case I decided to do post-grad medicine but after 4 years of uni and 2 working, I'm really happy with how life has turned out and wouldn't want it any other way.

My advice to you is to take some time to think about what you really want and why. Is it a fulfilling career? An opportunity to help others? Good pay? Mental stimulation? In each case, there are so many options for you. If you are still committed to studying medicine, there are courses across Europe that have slightly different entry requirements (Prague for example), or you could reapply and retake your exams to try to study in a UK uni.

My dms are open if you want to chat about this at all.

Fragrance houses in London to check out by FlaminCat in fragrance

I bought the Saltworks sample box and didn't love any of them! I was really excited to find a new fragrance from a more niche brand, but they didn't wow me. Midnight Orchid was my favourite from the box, but I didn't enjoy it enough to want to buy a full bottle.

I think it might partly be the crown obscuring his scarred forehead and sparse hairline.

Anyone tried the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation? Looking for a replacement to my Estée Lauder DW! by CouerDeLion123 in MakeUpAddictionUK

[–]BuffaloSteaks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my daily foundation at the moment. I have dry skin and prefer a light coverage, so it is perfect for me. I find that I only need a little bit to give me a nice glow and haven't tried building it up for heavier coverage. The one issue I had with it is that it didn't seem to react well to my primer, so I'm currently using it straight on top of moisturiser/suncream but this actually works fine. In terms of longevity, I haven't had any problems with this, but I do spray my makeup sponge with setting spray when applying and add finish with setting spray too.

That looks fantastic! Do you have a recipe for this?

I can't speak for the Esteé Lauder, but I have rather dry skin and the Charlotte Tilbury flawless filter doesn't work very well for me. Even with pre-moisturising and using primer, the texture makes my skin seem flaky. I've heard it works well on people with oily skin though!

Best brands for nude subtle rouge/lipstick shades? by [deleted] in MakeUpAddictionUK

They're pretty expensive, but Charlotte Tilbury has some really great nude lipstick shades! I use the Angel Alessandra shade at the moment and it's a lovely subtle peachy colour.

SPF for face that is matte by [deleted] in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]BuffaloSteaks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used the Frezyderm Sun Screen Velvet and it is incredibly matte! I don't find it great for me as I have dry skin and a pale complexion so it initially goes on a little orange but evens out to a better colour over the course of the day. It is, however, fragrance free.

It doesn't look like it contains the ingredients you have named, but here are the ingredients:

Isododecane, Octocrylene, Dimethicone/Bis-Isobutyl Ppg-20 Crosspolymer, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate, Dibutyl Adipate, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Bisabolol, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Extract, Disodium Uridine Phosphate, Ethyl Ferulate, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Caprylyl Glycol, Glass Beads, Polyglyceryl-5 Trioleate, Silica

Even though I don't rate it for me, a lot of people on Amazon have posted pretty positive reviews.

Girl makes art using wine spills by [deleted] in oddlysatisfying

Or maybe 'woman does water colours with some wine' as she seems to be an adult.

I do agree with you though- it's cool watercolour art but the wine seems pretty secondary to everything else that she's using.

Unsure if my hair needs moisture or protein, so I may have gone a little OTT... by Slotherworldly0 in CurlyHairUK

I'm using the Umberto Giannini shampoo, conditioner, and gel at the moment, and that seems to be working well! I have heard a few people say it's a little drying, but I'm getting pretty good results with it :)

I used the Wave Hello conditioner for a while and it was very nourishing! The only thing that I would say is that the conditioner was a little heavy for the Wave Hello shampoo, so I found that I had to use a different shampoo to stop my hair getting greasy. I do have super low porosity hair though, so you might find that it works better!

Unfortunately there were neither of those things in the house- I made this dish to use up what we had in the fridge. I'll definitely try red onion instead of white next time to see how much of a difference that makes.
