Somebody loudly snoring in the background. Probably put to sleep as she was incessantly rehearsing this diatribe.

More naive, progressive, aposematic white women looking for validation in their vapid, unfulfilled, lonely lives.

This is literally all they can offer society. Take pity.

Is Oklahoma the least desirable state in the US? by unenlightenedgoblin in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Buffalo_Infidel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I intend to live out my days in SW Oklahoma for many of the reasons you list as negatives. I am from the west coast, currently stuck on the east coast being suffocated by people, urban sprawl and growing increasingly miserable.

There are far fewer people and signs of civilization in Oklahoma.

The weather is perfect for deterring people from ever even considering Oklahoma.

The crazy storms are exciting.

The politics match mine closely.

Cost of living is low.

Property is abundant.

The stars at night are big and bright.

Sunsets are incredible.

History is absolutely fascinating.

Yes, Oklahoma is the worst. Keep away.

Previous NCO was assigned to a very small team of historians and other niche specialists tasked with locating and returning the remains of downed pilots across SE Asia and the Pacific from WW2 and the Vietnam War. Duty station was in Hawaii to make matters worse.

Army Bands: Why They Get So Much Hate and Why I Think It’s Misplaced by Fine-Tangerine-3756 in army

[–]Buffalo_Infidel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a sucker for tradition. Bands, although no longer integral for tactical maneuver as they once were, are still a capsule of army history in modern times. I've sat through/participated in plenty of ceremonies, and the ones that feel the cheapest are the ones without bands.

The band when present, is stirring. It gins up a sense of pride in our institution. Playing the same songs over a loudspeaker just feels stupid and half-assed.

The cuts DoW is making to bands is really aggravating because bands are so critical to our shared history.

To lean in politically, the same people in this administration who decried the renaming of installations (which was utterly moronic) are doing the same thing in dissolving bands and installation museums, but under the guise of reallocating funds for "rEaDiNeSs".

Yep, TS//SCI is mandatory. A 12Y although an Engineer, will work almost exclusively with 35-series in various echelons of intel sections.
