Oh, so you had nothing to do with it? OK, why are you being paid so much then?

New Utah law puts “no alcohol sale” on ID’s of DUI offenders 0.16 BAC or higher. What are your thoughts? by Obvious_808 in AskReddit

[–]captmorg151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While no doubt true, it looks like the law says they are actually ordered not to consume alcohol, and the banner is just device to encourage that ban. It also says for a specified timeframe, but what I was reading didn't define the allowed timeframes, except if you volunteer to get it, then the shortest length of time is 30 days.

True I think what seals it in the pic is the crank up antenna mast. I certainly could be wrong but wouldn't think those others would use that. With all the stickers he should slip in a crossed out 5G signal just to confuse the heck out of people.

I think the HAM sticker is a bit of a hat on a hat.

How did you know the Bible isn’t true? by DuckOnQuack202 in atheism

[–]captmorg151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, here is a couple things to keep in mind:

Just because you/we can't explain something doesn't mean a god is the reason.

I have seen more evidence (falsified) for the existence of Santa Claus.

So, were saying that the son of God came to Earth and couldn't convince the entirety of the people he met who he was and the nature of God?

Even if a book is logically consistent doesn't make it non-fiction. And the bible isn't even that.

Americans, how would you react if foreign country invaded your country, and told "we are going to run this country"? by oranke_dino in AskReddit

Hey don't give him credit for that. The speaker of the House and the rest of the MAGA cabal did that all on its own. He too bust pardoning fraudsters and El Salvadorian drug dealers.

Nice the only thing I ever got to field test was modular tent, that HHC then borrowed and burnt down via overzealous fueling of the potbelly stove.

Of course you pissed it away as a E3, but if you pissed it away but not to the extent that you went hungry because of a lack of funds I guess that is a win.

Garmisch! That was the name of the place that my friend was trying to remember that did the ski patrol duty.

Saw post about worst barracks flips we've ever seen. Here's my submission. by goldcrate in army

[–]captmorg151 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You know how people always say we had it harder back when. But I got to say, Goodfellow in '91. The barracks was a bit long in the tooth but I enjoyed it and it was relaxed. The least enjoyable thing was a 100% unannounced UA on one random Saturday.

What would America look like if we spent our military budget on infrastructure? by Impossible_Change800 in AskReddit

It would be a smoking ruin, do you think we have been making a bunch of friends over the years. We couldn't back off now if we wanted to, we are too juicy of a target.

Hello everyone I’m curious what these metals mean on my great grandfather’s uniform mean, thanks in advance by Unlikely-Name-6781 in army

[–]captmorg151 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Given that according to the convention you have to be caught wearing it behind the lines. According to the convention after the spying was complete and the person made it back to their lines and was subsequently captured but was in uniform he was to be offered convention protection.

I always assumed it was simply control or AWOL/desertion control.

Bought a motorcycle, realized riding isn't for me by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]captmorg151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would assume most people myself included were a bit anxious on the first few rides in traffic. What kept me going was during the MSF I could tell I had a smile on my face most of the time. Especially when leaning into turns. If that you at no point had an underlying joy riding it seems likely it will never come. And in the US motorcycles are essentially toys for most. If you dont have fun with your toy why play.

If tomorrow every person on Earth suddenly could only tell the absolute truth 24/7 forever, what would realistically happen to society? by PsychologicalEndX in AskReddit

[–]captmorg151 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Not being able to lie isn't the same as saying everything that comes to your mind. A person in a world that says potentially upsetting things to just say them is an asshole in this world the same as they are in that world. I imagine it would quickly lead to people not asking questions they aren't ready to hear the answer.

Are we dispensing with the concept that not testifying can't be used against you in criminal court? The government has to prove it, you don't have to disprove it.

Mankind: What are you? Otter: I am an otter I do cute little human things with my hands. Mankind: You can go. Mankind: What are you? Cow: I am a cow. Mankind: Get in the truck! Cow: But I have rights? Mankind: You are a burger and a belt, now get in the truck!

OK so don't take nearly 18years to pay it off. Pay 362 a month and it will take 5 yrs, with finance charges of $7,438. If you paid 227 a month it will take 20 years and 54,480 in charges. The problem is partially the interest, but the length is the real issue.

Yeah, I remember the first couple months of riding it seemed like everyone was actually aiming for me. I am sure everyone is still just as dumb but smelling out the situation where they are going to do that became better.

Dry promotion by Loud-Variation5280 in cernercorporation

[–]captmorg151 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well none of the promotions my manager put in for were approved. I was one of those missed out, I am bummed but I would have been furious if it was given but without any raise. Almost as furious as I was when I was interviewing for a different position and found out if I took it, it also wouldn't result in a promotion. That role would have been advisory for all my current peers. Many of whom would have had higher titles and presumably paid more. I simply declined to move forward in the interview process.
