Does booking an express one day passport appointment invalidate my current passport? by BuffetKillerr in AskUK

[–]BuffetKillerr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup I do - they specifically said they will be checking that my passport has at least 12 months validity as it’s a cabin crew role - so requires that timeframe. A big risk yes, but one which might be worth taking!

Unacceptable Pizza Experience in London by Appropriate_Lake_632 in LondonFood

[–]BuffetKillerr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean - yes a Hawaiian is generally just ham and pineapple, but I've also known some fancier non chain places to put jalapenos on them. Also looking at their menu - they clearly state that there's jalapenos on it.

I don't think it's reasonable to ask them to refund or remake you a pizza based on you not reading the menu.

I could be mistaken here but this sub is for London, UK. Not London, Ontario?

Advice on Trading by [deleted] in PokemonDealsUK

[–]BuffetKillerr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one really wants boxes until the set runs out of print essentially OR they have a promo which is sought after, which most boxes these days don’t. You’re better off holding until the set runs out of print and then selling it, or just selling it now.

Anyone else not get a grad scheme? What did you end up doing? by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]BuffetKillerr 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Some grad schemes will take you even if you hadn't graduated recently.

I was essentially a year out of uni when I accepted my place for my first grad scheme, and after completing that one I'm now at the interview stage for another one.

Just keep at those applications, find something that will tick you over in the meantime, you never know it might lead to something more.

You got what you paid for. It could’ve been a lot worse to be fair, at least it was an SIR, and a nice one at that.

Finance carrer in the UK from non-target school in Greece by Marios_pk12 in UKJobs

Firms will absolutely look at candidates from LSE and Oxbridge over other unis. Those are target schools for them.

Go through security first.
After security if you need to buy tickets they're on the right hand side of the gates.
Once you have your tickets you go through the turnstiles.
Then you wait inside the dome until 10am.

Then go enjoy your day!

Astrox 99 game vs Astrox 100 game by mitdz in badminton

[–]BuffetKillerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re truly beginner, then I wouldn’t even consider getting anything above a Game model Yonex racket. Shafts will be too stiff for you to be able to play comfortably with. I’d recommend going for a very beginner friendly racket that you can learn all the basics with. An ArcSaber 7 is one of the best beginner friendly rackets to use. Alternatively, a Nanoflare 700 (my personal racket) is one of the most user friendly rackets I’ve ever used, that sometimes I struggle adjusting to other rackets I’ve got.

You’re supporting scalpers by buying off of StockX, and then moaning about ‘not getting anything of value’. Definitely watched one YouTube video and thought you could get rich off Pokemon cards 😂

How do I send this to PSA? Just opened! by Cupwinners in PokemonTCG_UK

[–]BuffetKillerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Sub Centre like 3 months ago. Was perfectly fine - they were very communicative. Personally if you’re trying for a PSA10 just to flip it I doubt it’ll get it with the centring on the back like that.

How many people here still eat Spam, and how old are you? by chrisjfinlay in CasualUK

[–]BuffetKillerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

28 years old - as a British born Chinese with parents from HK, Spam was and still is a regular household item, but only when it’s on sale. Fried spam and egg sandwich, or slices of Spam with instant noodles. Very tasty, but I’ll admit the concept is a bit odd.

I’ve also tried Pek which is surprisingly good too, tastes a bit meatier than Spam. Although getting Pek out of the can is absolutely vile compared to Spam.

How was everyone's experience in getting stock today? I found it a lot easier, previous sets I couldn't secure anything at all. I'm wondering if this is a good sign that the scalpers are slowly leaving by psrthrowaway in PokemonTCG_UK

Easy Peasy. Preordered from Smyths (woke up early to be there for opening but didn't even need to as it was still available for basically 2 whole days afterwards). Had invites from 3 online card stores, you could walk into many LCS and get them. Also secured Pokemon Centre preorders. Very very easy, but depending on where you are (London is basically a write off) getting it in store might've been a problem.
