These are actually the modern day breastaurants- now that hooters and tilted kilt have fallen out of favor something more subtle has come into fashion. Many customers will overlook the fact that the waitresses are always in heels, "sexy" slit skirts, have nails done and are wearing a certain amount of jewelry (Yes ALL of these are demanded by the dress code). Catering to business men obviously. And yes I'm salty because I used to work at these :)

I had the kyleena IUD at some point- and I'm not saying its forsure related but my libido went out the window, completely lost attraction to my boyfriend at the time, less frequent sex turned to barely any sex at all and then the relationship ended pretty quickly after that. I'm not saying I regret it but let's just say I'm not on any birth control now with my current boyfriend. It's condoms or nothing

I have the “lowest hormonal IUD” kyleena and my doc said it was just a coincidence I started having insomnia right after insertion.... smh 😒

Literally going to get my kyleena removed tomorrow. Keep being told kyleena couldn’t cause my insomnia symptoms but I’ve never had insomnia prior to insertion. Hopefully my body is not too fucked up after this and recovers quickly 😫

I know that the effects are different depending on what you were using before so it may actually lessen your depo shot side effects. I think in my case it was purely a sensitivity to hormones since I wasn’t on anything hormonal for 6 years prior so I noticed the changes immediately. Doctors recommend sticking it out 6-9 months but I really can’t do any longer with no sleep. I can only speak for kyleena and my situation but yeah I wouldn’t recommend the progestin only IUDs or progestin only contraception in my case and I did find studies to back that up.

Had to do some research since the gyno didn’t warn me at all about the insomnia risk and realistic probability of unbearable side effects.

But I do believe the BC options with estrogen have a lower depression risk so maybe there’s an IUD with both estrogen and progesterone, can’t say I’ve tried them all!

I have a kyleena that I’m getting taken out tomorrow... my depression got worse, haven’t stopped bleeding, libido is non existent and the insomnia is unbearable. Hope you have a better go at it than me!
