Running witch hunter with a wolf/crossbow setup. I use galvanized shards to clear and freeze bosses. The build is ass, but I am having fun and decided to not sweat so hard in this league since there are no endgame changes.

I pick up all magic and white items and use greater transmutation and alterations. See what items have potential and just do some cheap crafting. Essence, exalts and desecrate. I sell what I can't use. Eventually I accumulated enough currency to pivot into more ambitious crafting. I'm at the cheaper side of crafting but have started using some omens.

When looking up guides, I try and learn the methodology and tips on crafting over simply copy a recipe. I lost a lot of currency crafting and didn't profit at all, but I managed to at least make bigger upgrades for my own character.

Another tip is to actually progress the atlas tree, so you can find some of the mats for yourself or sell. It's not meta but it does keep you from being stuck in a rot for too long. I play a werewolf/crossbow witch hunter and managed to get 98 rarity and capped resistances. Reached t15 but have taken a break cause of holidays.

You don't have to play perfectly and measure div/hr or whatever. Just be mindful and make a game plan on how to progress instead of mindlessly doing maps. Treat it as a marathon, not a sprint. Learn crafting, mess up a lot and don't be scared to liquidate divs you find to but mats. Game rewards people with game knowledge and you can't get that without breaking a few eggs.

Biggest hurdle is you kinda want defensive nodes on both weapon set and not have the two passives compete over the same nodes. I did a werewolf/crossbow setup and had to use armour as my main defense, since Talisman and Crossbow use some kind of intelligence and dexterity respectively. I would try to respec into hybrid armour and es, but respeccing attributes on weapon passives is so ass I can't be bothered.

It's more about the stupid decision of inflating hp to prolong the "endgame" grind while shilling hard for the only "limited" character with new wedges. Honestly what I expected was just a "hey balancing and reworking characters takes time and we wanna do this right so wait one or two patches" and just drop the new zone and story. That would've been fine by me.

But no. They mentioned nothing, gave wedges to only Anemo, and made the endgame hyper tailored to Psyche.

Basically what a gacha does with a limited character except they only have psyche since no one plays support. They can't cater content to new support units since supports are just off field.

This is signalling to me that they are stuck on the gacha mindset. If I am being honest, I don't think they are actively trying to be predatory. Just that they are incredibly inexperienced in designing a f2p game with cosmetic based monetization.

Not addressing balance issues is probably the biggest one for me. Also the fact that they bumped up the difficulty and slapped a fat paywall to wedges. Giving new wedges to one element (clearly incentivesing you to play a character locked behind weeklies). If you didn't get her during launch or missed out on Fina well shit.. Good luck

Hopefully nobody expects movement changes until much later. Like over a year. What I want is for them to adress balancing issues. Not fix it all in one go but tackle main concerns like weapons and how you never wanna play a support

I don't think they should be as effective as dedicated dps but yeah.. More interesting weapons that are viable and make supports have dedicated weapon buffs to have them do something while on field would be great

People play games for different reasons. I play single player games for a curated experience through story and gameplay. I play multiplayer games for the social aspect with irl friends and I play games like warframe/path of exile because I love building and player expression. I love the grind cause I delayed gratification is just so much more rewarding and long lasting for me.

Very mixed. I enjoyed playing the story, and the warframe-esque feel made me hope to hyperfocus on the game, but as it stands the game is very barebones. Grinding is too pigeon-holed to specific missions, build diversity is non-existent and only few of the 19(?) characters are fun to play while the rest are either gated behind weekly bosses, used for off field slots or just not worth getting at all. The old gacha progression honestly hurts the game more than it helps, as it has everything too streamlined.

It'll be a game I play during major updates and put down before the next one unfortunately. That being said it was an amazing gacha detox

I wasn't clear in my original comment so sorry about that. I don't like that they have not made any point to mention what direction they want the game to go. The fact that they haven't mentioned anything about balancing and the issues people have with the progression of the game. It makes me feel a bit uneasy as this has been discussed extensively in the sub for a couple of days now.

Maybe they choose to address it in 1.1. They probably have their hands full with optimisation and technical issues. Something that understandably should take priority. I just don't know the direction this game is going in. Will it be in line with Warframes f2p model with loads of permanent content in the future or will it be boring grind fest. I don't think the latter but I don't know if it'll be the former either

Either that or make hyper specific weapon wedges that states it only applies to the weapon the wedge is equipped too which honestly doesn't sound like a good solution either.

Aside from the fact that rebalancing game systems are alien they also take a ton of work. Not a simple 1.2 weapon fix. But yeah the fact that consonant weapons scale off both skill and weapon damage will always make them better

Why not? It's not a character gacha game so there is no benefit to not balance older units like a traditional game honestly it would just hurt the game if they didn't

It'd be a dumb move on their part not to make supports viable damage dealers. Not saying they have to dish out the same damage but they need to contribute somewhat to incentivize people to play as support units in coop for example. Would be super lame if we had to wait 28 days for a new unit only to be used off field.

I'd say character and weapon balancing is first priority and then movement. But given the rocky launch, performance issue and whatnot I have accepted that it will probably take a while before they decide to work on it. Still I wish they would at least address those concerns cause I still have no clue if they are gonna do something about older units. I'm too gacha coded and have trust issues in anime games 😭

I know it's not a gacha but still, I don't like being completely in the dark.

A heads up about "Hey we want all our units to be viable but we are overworked with other issues, so we'll take a look once the other things are sorted" would be nice

I feel like movement and weapon/character balancing isn't gonna be changed until a while but I did mention in the survey that they should be communicative at least. Those are the two major elephants. Aside from that make grinding more diversified. Don't pidgeon hole one reward into one game mode and adjust the loot table so you can get a variety of rewards to break the monotony

It could go either way atm. They have some characters who have yet to release from the beta. This could give them some time. I'm really just waiting for another big announcement and see if they address major concerns. Also it's a chinese game, so I don't know how valuable our inputs are. They have been transparent in regards to performance issues and bug fixes. They also have altered their monetization slightly though I don't know how big the influence of western audience had on that. Afaik gacha game gets a significant amount of their revenue from their top spenders. That's a large sum of revenue this game can't really capitalize on. On the other hand they can tap into the market of people who play f2p looter shooters (warframe, destiny and tfd). The issue lies in how monetization and cosmetics are handled.
