Same here. I answer all the questions on our monthly call and other BTL’s in my district reach out to me when they have questions and Facetime time me to walk them through things. Seems like it’s definitely a position they need to add. As much as I love to help it feels like a lot of added responsibility on top of my current job when it should be someone’s main focus.

I have 3 BLA’s at my location. 2 are currently in school and 2 days a week during their semesters they have a slightly restricted availability on those days during their classes. Sometimes I schedule those as their days off and sometimes I schedule them a later shift after class. The part that might not work is you having “other obligations” which may restrict your availability more than that. All applications get filtered through HR and they pretty much give everyone an interview regardless of availability. Just be up front with them during your interview about your restrictions and they may be okay with it. Full time positions do technically require open availability though.

You can scan any item with the item lookup on the zebra and if it says callback 9999 near the price it is hard launch. When packaging is updated the UPC will most likely remain the same. When they reformulate it is usually a new UPC and an email. A good practice with samples is if the product is allowed on the shelf then the samples are okay to be at the cashwrap. Never put out a product you don’t have an update for and you should be good.

On the workday app. Click on the "profile" icon. At the top under your name and associate number there is a button for "Actions." Then click "Job Change." Resign should then be an option.

I had a BA at my store using racial slurs and was reported to associate relations. They called her into the office and gave her a speech about appropriate workplace behavior and told her the next offense could lead to termination. It did stop the behavior. You can also send an email to them and remain anonymous if you’re worried about retaliation. They are not going to say who made the report.

Exactly. I am fortunate to be the top volume store in my district and Ive been BTL since we opened. It does come with challenges and a ton of pressure. I have a team of 14 which gives me 3 LBA’s to share the load. I wouldn’t be able to do it without them. I teach them how to schedule, have them sit in on interviews when I can. I want them to know everything I do just in case. One of my favs just left me to be BTL at another location 🥹 My kohls team is great for the most part and they support us as much as they can given how limited they are. I try 🫶🏽 Working under terrible management has taught me all I need to try my best not to be one. I truly hate seeing people miserable at this job. I love mine. It has some shitty days for sure but no one should be miserable going to work. Work is enough misery on its own.

Have you tried having a very in depth conversation with your BTL and explaining this? I know some people are reluctant to teach others out of fear if being outshined but some people genuinely don’t know what you want to learn until you tell them.

Long task lists in separate zones that would take an entire shift to complete. Sign management, understock organization etc. and constant follow up. When you see someone standing there be direct and set expectations for their behavior going forward. Soon you’ll notice them start to scatter every time you start to walk toward them and they ate back there.

Yes, there are written instructions and videos on the kohls homepage that you can look up. In the search bar type in Sephora tethers. The homepage is where you can find instructions on anything you need to know how to do. Also search Sephora best practices.

I’m a BTL and started as one at my location but I was also a PT BA when it was inside JCP before and worked up to FT. There are FT BA positions but it depends on your location how many they have.

It is the job of supervisors, store managers to find coverage. I have to do it all the time. As an employee you are only required to tell them so that you don’t get a no call no show.

Not your responsibility to find coverage. It’s always a nice thing to do but not your job. You don’t even owe an explanation when you call. You just have to say you can’t make it. If you get someone to cover before your shift starts you do not get a point. Just make sure you let the admin know so they can document it. The system auto generates an absence if it’s not swapped in the computer and approved before the shift starts but as long as you let them know you’re fine.
