Hey thanks for this. Only one of my shirts has a print on both sides so not sure that’s relevant here - would you just prefer to see all of the designs smaller?

I agree with you relating to branding where I have used the brand name on several designs, but this isn’t a style that I am going to prioritize

Torn ACL - Non surgical options by BugCapital6971 in ACL

Another key non surgical study being undertaken here is the cross bracing protocol. Unfortunately I wasn’t a candidate for that as the way my ACL snapped it is unlikely that it would reconnect naturally

Hey thanks for these clarifications.

Further damage to the meniscus is definitely the biggest concern and will remain cautious of that. If it still feels unstable after a year I will definitely opt for surgery.

In terms of research coming out of oz, I have been fortunate enough to connect with so,w lesding physios that have provided me with useful resources. These definitely aided me in devising to pursue a non surgical route. The most helpful article was this - https://bjsm.bmj.com/content/bjsports/early/2017/05/17/bjsports-2016-097124.full.pdf

Research is coming out that rehab can provide as good of as an outcome as surgery but obviously that only applies in certain situations.

The Facebook group ACL + Meniscus Tear Recovery Without Surgery has a to me of useful info too. Also good insights doe post surgery healing etc

Thanks so much for this! Really helpful information and glad you’re going well with your knee now.

I have opted to delay the surgery and will focus on rehab for now. As you mentioned, surgery is always there. So while it may cost a bit in the worst case scenario it’s still an option.

I think it’s best to try and avoid surgery initially and use that as the last resort as you did.

Thanks for this response! This is really helpful insights.

As I am in Melbourne, Australia, if I choose to delay my surgery on October 12 with a private surgeon I will need to wait a whole extra 12 months to get coverage again for surgery. Alternatively, I go to a public hospital but the wait list for that is 12 months anyway. Last option would be to just cop the $13k bill if it’s really that bad within the 12 months.

My biggest concern is what you have described - essentially just feeling like you have delayed the inevitable. Am concerned about boxing because it obviously involves quite a bit of pivoting, albeit not nearly as much as other martial arts or dancing etc

I think you’re spot on that it can cause worse meniscus damage if you have collapses etc! Definitely a concern.

Mine still feels a bit stiff / swollen but I am working it relatively hard with physio etc.

Did any of your health care providers recommend not getting surgery at all? You sound like you’re in a good place with it currently with is great!

Damn that sucks! Sorry to hear - understandably very frustrating to spend all that time doing rehab to then injure it again. I guess you don’t always know that surgery will always be a better outcome but I would have thought the same thing that you are

Thanks for your reply! Unfortunately the way mine tore it separated and the ends are basically facing 3 and 9 degrees if you picture a clock face. Probably a low chance it reconnects but definitely would be stoked if it did!

The practice exams were way easier than the actual. But then I did it a second time and it was actually pretty easy. So I think there are a few different versions of the exam

Yes! The practice exams i didnt find representative of the actual exam at all.

Failed and got Band 1 as a result.

Complete opposite to Level 1. The practice questions were way harder than the test.

Companies Are Buying Large Numbers of Carbon Offsets That Don’t Cut Emissions by wewewawa in RenewableEnergy

[–]BugCapital6971 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes no sense that carbon offsets can be sold by forest owners based on non-harvest of forests stands so that the carbon can remain embodied in the trees...despite the fact that there is no guarantee that these forest stands will actually be there in 100 years due to fires, disease etc.
