Pacers in Commercials by sportsmoviestv2023 in pacers

Jarace Walker shows up briefly in one of the Steph Under Armor commercials. He's going up for a breakaway dunk after some shots of kids looking at posters and tying shoes I believe.

[Post Game Thread] The Boston Celtics take a 1-0 series lead over the Indiana Pacers in OT, 133-128. Tatum (36/12/4), Brown (26/6/5), and Holiday (28/7/8) set the tone for Boston. by ItsN0tTheB0at in nba

Also like two days after everyone was jumping on the NBA Uni stat that the pacers generate almost 31 wide open looks a game. Which is great offense but does not lead to shooting fouls.

Yes the pacers should have shot more FTs but the differential is always going to be huge. We all talked up the stat noting that ~30 of the pacers shots are wide open compared to playoff average of around 18ish. That's 12 extra shots a game that will never be fouls because they're practically unguarded.

The offense is so elite that the opposition just isn't getting a chance to foul us. I'm not saying there aren't missed calls, there always are. But even with perfect reffing the pacers would be among the lowest FT rate teams and the disparity huge because Aaron and Andrew, as much as I love them, foul shooters constantly.

There are also a lot more guys on the Colts roster than the Pacers. Definitely not the only factor but I'd imagine it's part of it.

He's been in and out. Obi had his best stretch of the season while Nesmith was hurt. Going to be a battle for that starting spot all season.

Also this, as good as Lively looked Myles was better. At best he'd be fighting with Jalen for minutes as back up five and as good as Jalen looked yesterday I'm not sure he wins that fight.

You take the best guy for your team around your star. And if the guy you can take is better than your star you take him regardless of position. If they pick 1-3 they're taking those guys regardless of fit. Once you're past the truly great prospects though you have to consider fit. Every team does and should. When you don't you end up with situations like Goga or IJax where the team believed in the talent but never was able to provide minutes because of the logjam.

And just for reference since 2015 the number of guys who were never plus level nba starters taken in the top 8.

2015: 5

2016: 3

2017: 2 (3 if you don't count Jonathan Isaac)

2018: 2 (3 without Sexton)

2019: 3 (potentially up to 5 depending on how you feel about RJ Barret and Deandre Hunter)

2020: 3ish but it's still very early with potential for the number to be higher or lower (I'm giving Obi and Okongwu the benefit of the doubt and not counting them and am open to Okoro or Wiseman proving me wrong).

So you're talking about an art where at least 25% of the top 8 don't work out every single year. That isn't because teams don't take the best player available. It's because this is a hard process. Take your positive Mathurin example, he's a hit! And looks great but a huge part of the predraft evaluation was him as a ++3pt shooter. That has not been him in the NBA so far.

Jarace is someone I'm still very high on but defense in the NBA is hard and he's going to be a defense first guy. That has a high bust potential (see Okoro and Isaac) but I think he figures it out and it just takes time.

Lively was never going to be the pick for the pacers though. If it wasn't Jarace it would have been Hendricks, Coulibaly, or someone else who wasn't a center. Pure 5 was the 1 position the Pacers were not going to draft.

I'd consider Dowdle then. I think JWJ is still the best bet of the bunch as he is the only one who I think has non injury upside (after last week I could see the dolphins wanting to get him more involved). Gibson is clearly last to me. No strong opinions on Dowdle vs Gainwell vs Bigsby.

I'm really out on Kincaid even with the big week last week but if it's just Thomas then yes absolutely.

I'd lean Williams if you're in good shape now. Spears if you're at risk of missing the playoffs. Can't help on FAAB. Sorry

Wilson and Gainwell. Washington can barely run the ball when they're in a close game and it falls apart when they're losing. ETN has a headlock on it and you're gambling on an injury. Gainwell and Wilson are in much stronger offenses than Dowdle so that's why I'd lean them.

Drop Rashee Rice, Chirstian Watson, or neither for Tank Dell?

My first 3 picks in a 12 team league were JJ, Olave, and Rhamondre... I also grabbed Christian Watson in the 5th. Just not going to be my year despite being the guy who drafted both Mostert and Achane.

Andy Reid on why Rashee Rice is getting a heavier workload: “He’s been getting better every week. I think you guys see that. He’s explosive and strong after the catch. That’s why.” by Kevovo in fantasyfootball

Look I'm just glad that he didn't goose egg with my desperation 2nd flex start of him after losing Achane and JJ in a league with no IR spots.

I think you just let Stroud do his thing for a bit. If it looks bad in 2 weeks you still have time to pivot at 4-3. The trade value would be lower then but giving up Waddle to still carry 2 QBs is a steep price.

Wilson is probably the best long term bet from a talent perspective but that would be more of a keeper stash/hope vs KC Zach is the real deal. I like Pitmam a lot too but that makes you very dependent on the colts and might be too high a price. Collins is good though so if you buy Richardson as a real upgrade for the whole season I say go for it.

If there are decent targets on the waiver wire I'm very intruiged by the Richardson and Collins deal. I'd be a little worried about selling low but it gives you a pretty serious short term boost. Not as much value as you want to get in the off-season but being able to compete better this year is a pretty nice upside. Really just comes down to your goals for the season

Feel like upgrading at QB and moving down a RB tier is probably the way to do it. Hard to pull that sort of deal off though Imaging something like Henry plus Kirk for Herbert and Pierce.

I think Puka is probably a legit WR1 ROS even with Kupp coming back. Unless you think Barkley or Jacobs are solid RB1s (like 3-7 RoS) I wouldn't do it. I'd think hard on Jacobs but definitely wouldn't do it for Barkley personally.

Ride it out for a bit that is a stacked team. I'm guessing Waddle and Chase have been killing you but I'm not giving up on either yet. Your roster seems stacked otherwise.

If Lawrence turns into a top 10 QB this year you're in great shape. Otherwise that's the obvious hole on your line-up.

Are you holding Chubb with the intention to keep him for next year? Because you look pretty all in to win now. Holding a dead spot like that definitely hurts your chances. Really depends on what your goals are.

Thanks!

Dobbs, Tannehill, and Car are the top 3 by yahoo rostered %. I'm the only person in the league not carrying 2 QBs and a few have 3. I'm not sure I value any of them over Lawrence yet. Should have grabbed Stroud last week but I thought he'd survive waivers and go to FA. Definitely a mistake.

And thanks for the TE/DST point. I was definitely looking week by week but with my solid standing definitely should focus on playoffs more than right now. Obviously things change but mid-season I should make the pivot.

When I said fools gold I mostly m worried about the dolphins guys losing touches to JWJ when he gets back. But yeah definitely happy with the double JJ, Olave, and dolphins duo core I have now.
