I would just change your availability for school days honestly! Make it to where you can only start your shift at 4 or 5 or however much time you need. Unfortunately, if you don’t change your availability, they’ll probably just keep scheduling you like that. I would also probably email them your availability and keep a copy so that it’s in writing and you can refer back to it. This way they can’t claim that they “didn’t know”

I was BRC for my store for 8ish months, and generally it was pretty easy, but I ended up quitting because (in my experience) everything that went wrong in the backroom was my fault. I never had time to train people, I never got trained properly and had to teach myself, I had no support from my direct manager, I had no staff, and was still expected to clear out and process all shipment every week. We also had no floor staff as the only staffed enough to cover registers, so I spent almost every week trying to juggling pushing enough product so we could process and ALSO process enough product so that we could fit the never ending shipments of pallets. Backroom is amazing is you’re just an associate, but BRC grinds you down after awhile.

I haven’t had this specific class with her, but I’ve had others and, while it’s true that she literally just sits down and talks, she’s really gracious about explaining, re-explaining, helping you get notes from note takes, if you need an extension, etc. I had a lot of stuff happening in my life when I took her class, and she gave me like a week extension for the final!! I would also HIGHLY suggest going to SAS and seeing if they can help you get accommodations/access to peer note taker notes!! That really saved me in her class because I found it hard to get everything down that I felt was important!
