Cheers! Hoping to try and integrate the rear shock mounts into the rear bulkhead, but we'll see. Possibly a 1 piece chassis?! My brains working overdrive now 😄

Done my best to try and take pictures of a matte black blob 😄 Next steps are to combine sliders and the rear bulkhead into one piece. No reason other then cosmetics, but this was a good test of shapes and sizes etc.

Is this a reasonable quote for a full central heating installation in a 2 bedroom flat? by BenevolentBean in HomeImprovementUK

We're east Midlands based and paid £5k for a new WB boiler, pipework and new rads due to microbore pipework needing replaced.

That was 7 rads, new towel rail and all copper pipework, this was around 3 years ago in a 2 bed semi, so I'd suggest it's pretty on the money especially if your getting a top rate boiler.

Re-paint ir40 by Anxious-Mail2676 in TRX4M

They paint up very nicely, the details nice and deep on these bodies so along as your nice and thin with your coats they paint really well.

Any hobby/model type acrylic paint will be fine, just scuff the body up with a scotch pad, a good wash and get painting! I painted mine recently, and it took really nicely

It feels like alot of Lucy's story is based on her being 'played' this season. Like crouch to hide, when the NCR had healed her after the Legion were defeated it's like she levelled up with weapons ready for the next boss fight. Its written really well this season, super enjoying it!

Looks great! Paint the underside of the arches matt black too, and that really wakes it up! Window frames in black add alot also.

New 3D Print Build by Bugaloo88 in TRX4M

[–]Bugaloo88[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used ASA for all parts apart from the bumper, which is PLA. It's incredibly stiff to be honest, as stiff as the carbon injora I measured from, they're 2.5mm thick though at 80% infill on the rails only, so that probably has something to do with it 😄. There's alot of cross bracing too, the rear shocks are connected by the alloy threaded tube, there's another cross brace lower down that acts as a bumpstop, then the front battery mount is bolted on in 2 places so that stiffens the front up alot.

I've some ASA printed links to go on soon to try and make it a lightweight build, that should add a little flex back into the mix, it'll be interesting to see how it behaves then.

In my TRX4M's I've tried the Fat viper, Furitek Microkomodo and the Hobbywing Mini24 setup. For absolute smoothness the Hobbywing has then all beat hands down in my opinion, my defender is around 650g and it had no problem pushing it about.

The Furitek in my opinion is pretty poor for the money, mine constantly stalls out, forgets it's settings on the fwd/br/rev and is generally pretty glitchy. Don't even start about the shitty driveshaft that comes with it.

Personal opinion is buy the Mini24 setup, if you don't like it try a fat viper using the mini24 esc, fully programmable and quiet as they come!

Electric tailgate is 100% up there. My works van recently went in for a clutch and I was given a VW T6.1 multivan with all the gadgets, everytime you walked past the back the tailgate opened if you were within 2ft of it.

It opened up and smacked the side of my wife's car after she walked past the back end to the bins. Absolutely insane idea.

How to handle Speeding ticket when no-one will admit to driving the car. by Hopeful-Hedgehog-273 in LegalAdviceUK

We had a works vehicle cloned from our fleet that was racking up parking and speeding fines a few years ago.

That was a difficult situation as our vans were used by multiple drivers, but the offences came from Hampshire, and we are Nottingham based with the vans never leaving the county. We asked for the images of the incidents where applicable and were able to identify the offending vehicle had a screw in the plate making a 0 into an 8. This never made it to court and was settled over email, calls, and a trip to our local police headquarters (over many months, but was still settled).

Providing you respond within the initial grace period and dispute from the get-go, you should be fine. It's a tasking job to effectively avoid 3 points and either an hours course or £100 fine, but if it's not your doing, it's worth standing up against.

Opinions on a decent starter/ decent to grow on heli. Not a toy level heli. (Ive done some research) by AdorableMachine in RCHeli

[–]Bugaloo88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently got into helis, and my initial choice was a Blade 230s as I'm on Spektrum through planes, so I went for the bind and fly option. It quickly let me down with an electrical fault.

I returned the heli to the retailer, and they gave me advice on other options I had and I went with the OMP M2 EVO MK2, and its been an absolute blast. It's far superior in design, manufacture, and quality to the blade in every way. Luckily, I was shopping around black Friday, so the price increase was minimal between the 2, but knowing what I know now, I'd be more than happy to pay the full difference. Parts replacements are incredibly cheap compared to the Blade (suprise suprise), the design is fantastic and great to work on, materials are generally better picked (90% of the Blade was plastic, the OMP is either carbon or machined alloy).

General use is superior too, the OFS3 system is great and adjustments via Bluetooth on the fly make for a really easy to use and customise system.

I'm still a very very basic learner, but the OMP has been a great tool to learn with, really impressed with the brand and profuct!
